Ok well i am mainly into card tricks, but i wouldnt mind doing some other stuff, I want some more on the spot material. My friend told me to look into Banachek, but i dont really know anything about him, are the tricks impressive? impromptu? unique? Any tips on what tricks to get would be greatly appreciated.

Stigmata is a winner for impromptu trick that gives the most reaction. You might get rebuted by its price (about 20-30$) but trust me, this tricks require absolutely no set-up and leave the spectator speechless.
If you want to get more tricks for you money, you might want to check on Jay Sankey's series, some of his title offers a great amount of "impromptu" effects.

Banachek has incredibly strong impromptu material. I recommend his books Psychological Subtleties and Psychokinetic Time.

Also, depending on your defenition of impromptu, i would recommend a swami - as there are no visible compromises with it.

some useful techniques on anytime anywhere that helped me to improve stuff i was already doing as well as learn a fair few new tricks

I also believe that stigmata is a great trick.But,the "stigmata" on the hand,are pretty obvious to understand what are they,and how they were created.I mean,i did it to my grandmma,and after a minute,she understand the way stigmata were created,and she made them appear on her hand too!(note:My gradmma doesn't know anything about magic".)So,i don't believe that stigmata is that strong(personal opinion).I believe that the best impromptu trick is Sinful(Coin in soda can).

Sinful isn't really impromptu if yu haven't got a soda can handy and if you suddenly produce one yourself, it can look suspicious. However, I know what you're trying to get at and I much prefer Sinful than Stigmata (although I don't own the latter).

I note that you said that you're into cards and you wish to move away towards something different. In my opinion, coin magic can be very complimentary when performed alongside card magic and it's often impromptu due to the fact that most people have coins on them.

I recommend Bobo's coin magic book as a starter, about the same price if not cheaper that Stigmata and it contains far more material. Find a review elsewhere in TM. Routines such as Daryl's 3Fly (coins across) is visual and isn't difficult to learn.

I'd give the one trick pony's a miss and increase your general magic skills a bump up.

For some fantastic reactions, fully impromptu stuff needs to be performed without gaffs or gimmicks—as these are truly anytime, anywhere stuff.

I'd recommend:
1. Carrying a TT around—lots of near-impromtu stuff you can do

2. Learning a couple of torn & restored effects, with tissue paper etc.

3. Get the Banachek stuff only if you know you can pull of the 'theatrics' required to get the reactions.

3. Learn some basic sleights such as retention vanishes, palms (not talking card or classic palm—more like fingertip palm or thumb pinch). Basic sleights can help greatly in your arsenal of 'do it now' effects.

4. Learn some coin magic. Coin magic is VERY impromptu, as a lot of it starts off with borrowed props (coins!). Roth or Sankey would be a great start, as they both teach basic sleights and effects very fluently.

5. Concentrate on what fits your own character—if you want to be able to perform impromptu stuff, attitude is everything. You can't just perform to any old Tom Dick or Harriet. Spectator selection is crucial!

Ok two things, I saw the Stigmata review and it said get Banachek instead, but ive heard Banachek is VERY hard. And even though this goes against the rest, which do you guys think is better ID or Brainwave Deck? Thanks again for all the advice guys.

The brainwave deck is a slightly better effect but also slightly harder. The ID can also be repeated, not recomended obviously but you can get away with it. With the brainwave you can't without the danger of something being revealed.

ID is better in my opinion. It's just a bit easier to do really...
