I agree I thinks the C.U.P.S forum is where you need to be. It is great to be amongst fellow C.U.P.S sufferers although we tend to end up accidently encouraging one another rather than stopping what we call in C.U.P.S circles "The Urge"

Darn, I should've waited! I paid $20 CAD for mine plus $15 for engraving, and only one side with a face of a card ! In any case, I'm not sure about who designed this particular clip but the one I bought is starting to lose it's "grip"... I usually put a weight on it to keep the bend strong, but should it be that way? Has anyone else felt that after prolonged usage it loses its straightening capabilities?

these clips aren't meant for "straightening"... they more so protect yr cards and box from getting scuffed etc. NOT a Joe Porper type item. having said that, quite easy to squeeze these clips shut a little to make a tighter fit if that's what you need.

Bobby, I just noticed that you had posted this review! Great job! That was a very thorough and honest review!

Regarding one of your comments about the card clip being a little short (which is the case for a few other card guards I have come across); does the pack stick out enough to allow the box to crumple where it is exposed.

The price of the penguin card guards were very cheap (as they don’t seem to be available at the moment) and look identical to ones I had purchased for twice the price. But if you had them engraved featuring all the fancy artwork of the ones from ellusionist, I am sure the price would hike up pretty quickly.

AJ82, you don’t have to worry about dealing with the aforementioned Ellusionist as far as business conduct is concerned; I can assure you that they are very professional with their customer service. Just that sometimes (not always) their prices can be a little bit dearer than some places when you’re buying generic goods from them (but in saying that I must admit that their “Bill Malone On The Loose” DVD set was at a very good price).

the E card clip has 3 edges of the pack exposed, obviosuly the 4th edge is the spine of the clip so no problem there. using Bikes as an example, if you push the pack right in at the spine, then flush at across the top, the long edge and the bottom edge will protrude about 1mm 'ish.

in a perfect world they would be just a little bigger, having said that, i bought them to protect my deck so i could drop it in my bag or pocket and not have it looking "ragged" and it does that well enough!

also, the engraving is A-Class on the Ellusionist clips. you would never get that kind of precise reproduction by hand engraving... these arre definately a computer etching job and the set up costs etc would be such that "we normal people" could not buy the penguin clips for $4 - $5 and get them engraved front, back, side at anything near $15. the E clips would be engraved before they are bent into tthe clip shape.

anyways, i think they are great and am now suffering the anxiety of wanting (not needing) another 3.

Give it time Bobby, Brad Christian mentioned something about Ghost and Tiger editions of these Clips being in the works. So hold on little buddy and go and chill out at the CUPS forum for a little.

He did not say as far as I am aware. All I know is that someone made a request for Black Tiger and Ghost designed card clips and Brad replied by saying something like there were a few special things in the works.
