We have quite a selection of people that visit the boards here at Talk Magic. Everyone with their own styles of magic, their own views on how it should be performed and indeed their own effects.

Being in the glorious age of Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Self Publishing Companies. How many of you have written your own books? Perhaps you are part of the Lecture circuit and have produced Lecture Notes?

What inspired you to write it, what sort of material it contains, and whether or not you are considering getting it released?

I've got a manuscript in second draft about the stripper deck. It goes a lot deeper than just cutting and stripping and includes sleights and techniques I haven't seen anywhere else. I wrote it because the literature I've seen only scratches the surface, and because of a particularly bad experience of being in a restaurant with a table-hopper plying shoddy trade with the sainted deck.

I've also got a universal book test in final testing that now needs writing up properly and pitching. I wrote that because I just wanted to walk up to a complete stranger reading anything at all. No forces, no peeks, nothing. 100% impromptu. As long as whatever they're reading has words in it, there's a very high probability that it'll work, from a shampoo bottle to War and Peace.

Privately, I have my Principia Mathemagica - a giant spreadsheet with everything I've ever worked out to do with statistics, equations, formlae and magic. The book test is an example of an application for one of the worksheets.

So, the publication date is when? And we will be able to get it from NUMS?

And Mandrakes stuff is MORE than worth a sniff... ranging from 'stuff your grandpa showed you and you could never remember' to stuff which Mandrake saw in a dream when a Indian visited his subconscious.

Lay off the peyote, dude... ;)

I joined Magic Notes and posted a trick, but it sat in a state of Pending Approval for a month. I emailed them and got no reply and eventually took it down again. :(

All contributors to NUMS who've had their items approved will soon be enjoying some fruits of their labours ;)

If you've contributed, and not heard a reply, please PM me.

I have written a most wondrous book concerning the svengali deck. It is probably the greatest book ever written on the subject by the greatest exponent of the deck in history. Me.

It can be obtained from various magic dealers across the world. However it can also be obtained from me. This is the best way since I make more money this way. And the advantage of course for you is that I can autograph the book whereas a dealer can't do that for you.

Mind you when I was a magic dealer I would often autograph books in the name of the author and pretend that it came from them. Business is business you know.

Anyway the book can be obtained from my website and the autograph on this occasion will be genuine.

I also have two other books which will be coming out shortly. One is due any month now and it describes the working of the Wonder Mouse a most awesome pocket trick where a little mouse scampers all over the place. It crawls all around the hand and jumps from one deck of cards to another and scurries out of a glass scaring all and sundry. I also describe the squirmle and the spooky pencil in the book. It will be a most masterful piece of literature.

In addition to this I will be publishing another book entitled "Wit and Wisdom of Mark Lewis" This will consist of my various ravings on the internet.

I am also writing at present a book on stage hypnosis. This will take a little longer to be on the market but it will get there eventually.

I've had a couple of books published but unfortunately nothing whatsoever to do with magic!

One has sold internationally too!
