Rama Deck

Postby Farlsborough » Jun 4th, '06, 03:24

Right - I just got this rather funky little deck! I like the workings; a m****d deck as well as using the svengali principle. It comes as just the latter, but tells you of an easy way to do the former yourself.

My question is - does anyone use the Rama deck and if so, did you use their system or another system - and, if another, which system etc. PM me need be! Also has anyone been caught out using a m*****d deck and if so, what system were you using... I just want to make sure I'm using a top system before I take a craft knife to my cards! Especially as it's not an easy deck to make yourself, and I don't really want to shell out another £14 because I've taken their advice and used a rubbish* system...

*Ha! This is such a clean message board, it filters out the word cr*p! Watch: "c*** (not the best)!"

Check the site as there has been a nice thread on this deck. I use it a lot and to great effect. It is really good combined with an ID.

The Rama Deck is very usable as-is. In fact, the system as a whole is very versatile as it *can* be used as a regular deck.

Sure, you can go the extra mile you mentioned, and if you do, I'd recommend the method shown in the Rama booklet. It's easy, and fast, and recognisable. And if you're subtle, there's no real danger of ruining the deck either.

What should be taken as cautionary is the WAY the system suggested is to be implemented. Personally, I prefer to use a marker than a knife and do the additions by adding to rather than taking away (that SHOULD make sense if you are a Rama owner).

Cheers Seige, that's really useful - actually, the way they suggest seems to work quite well, as long as you're steady handed and patient! :)

I didn't do the optional extra at all. Instead i present it as a memory trick - I look at the cards, THEN give them a riffle shuffle, then make 3 cuts and predict the next card. That normally gets them!

Had some good reactions lately with the "telephone mental" trick that is on the Rama Forum.

In the right setting - say a party when the drinks are flowing - this really packs a punch with the whole room going quiet listening in to the call :-)

On the card that has the phone number on it I write "National ESP Institute", but don't call attention to it.

Great stuff.

Look for the Spocmagic website, they have a forum which gives more free ideas for routines and such.
