Hi guys,

Has anyone considered buying this?

http://www.ellusionist.com/Blaine/Trick ... laine.html

Good price and looks impressive, but would like to hear from someone who has bought it.

Thanks.

I have got these in stock, and I can say that it's fantastic.

With ALL these things, DO NOT EXPECT a miracle. Only perform this when the time is right.

And when you do, the reactions are simply amazing.

And the reset is rapido!

the self tying shoelace

Postby robjustrob » Jun 6th, '06, 00:01

hi all
new to the forum here and hoping to get some quality discussions going once i get going.
on the subject of STS self tying shoelaces i recieved mine 3 days ago and well firstly my son is still confused, he's only 5 so no surprise there.
personally i think its a stunning illusion.
heres my brief reveiw
quality.
goods recieved are of a very high standard so no need to worry about that side of things.
the trick is well taught with instructions leaving no stone unturned
and a very quick reset infact it can be reset whilst untying your laces to go again.
i would highly recomend this trick as a bit of a crowd puller, somethhing to get a few people gathered round once youve done it once word spreads and they will come so a must for the savvy street magician i think.

so my overall rating would be 8/10

thanks sorry if some folk find it rather dull but i wouldnt want to expose anything

OK, just some things to clear up I fear:

1. This isn't a new effect, I believe Luke Dancy had a version a while back

2. This doesn't just appeal to kids. I've performed it to adults who actually seem even more amazed than when I performed it to youngsters.

3. This really is fully one of the most visual effects I've seen for a while. Especially if you do it in 'innocence'. i.e. stand there with your laces undone, wait until someone comments, then tie them by magic.

4. The quality of the effects and DVD supplied are excellent. My STS system has been used about 100 times (with different shoes!) and is still going strong.

5. The best reactions are when wearing trainers, however, I've done this with boots, shoes and when I get to Timpsons or some such, I am hoping to perform it in my wedding shoes.

6. I've heard it commented upon that this effect ends up at the bottom of people's drawers as it's just not workable. Well, if a working magician can't find a little slot for this in their routine, they're not trying. And if you want this just for fun, family and friends can be freaked out too.

7. After the UK airing of Drowned Alive, my sales of this effect went crazy. Just to confirm, this IS the same effect performed by Blaine on the show.

8. The setup is very simple, and can be left in place all day. Reset/setup takes about 15 seconds. And the whole thing goes totally unnoticed.

9. Many people claim they know the method, but as with all these effects, what you need to perform plus a guide on how to pull it off successfully are what you are paying for here.

In conclusion: maybe this ISN'T a new idea, but in my opinion it's worth every penny. And if anyone is interested, I've put it on Special Offer on NUMS (plug plug)

I dont know how this works.

But if what i think is right (a friend has told me how he thought), I'm sure you could make it yourself.

HOWEVER...i agree, if you want it desperately, you would pay the money!

Seige, I wear new rocks, can I still do this trick?

Looks like a good bit of fun, but, don't want to waste money because of too big shoes :(

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

It works with ANY shoes. Any at all.

The only requirement being that they have laces!

PM me if you are unsure.
