Dunno if this is the same Harary (or descendant of) that you mention Craig?

"According to a release, Franz Harary will be taking a trip later this year to Tibet where he will vanish Mount Everest for a television special. The illusion will be taped in front of an audience of Tibetan monks who vow to tell the truth."

Is The Blindfold Enigma by Carroll K Priest worth a look? Obviously whilst I'm wearing my blindfold...

He, he... yes that's dear old Franz... the guy with the world's largest topit

I'm not familiar with the specific blindfold you are asking about... sorry.

Blindfolds

Postby Allen Tipton » Jun 7th, '06, 18:23

:) I do so agree with Craig. You must learn to work with a real blindfold before using feke ones. generally (because they haven't done the pre blindfold work) most magicians put on such a hammy act of not being able to see, it shrieks at an audience.
.Check out the Al Koran Blindfold routine in one of the Lewis Ganson Books, Also Eyeless In Gaza by Stephen Minch( £6:20) and of course the Step No. 5 booklet in 13 Steps To Mentalism by Corinda.' Blindfolds & X Ray Eyes' You may have to buy the whole book now altho' Russell Hall of Magick Enterprises, Sheffield or Dave Charles Hocus Pocus Magic, Arnold, Nottm. may still have copies of the original booklets.
I doubt if police would allow a blindfold drive these days unless it was on fenced off ground, a race track etc. In any case DO NOT attempt this unless 1, You are a very, very experienced driver. 2 You are a very experienced magician. 3. Unless there is valuable publicity gained from it. as for a Charity Gala.

And I bet even if you use a see through blindfold you wouldn't have your full peripheral vision just tunnel vision (in other words you'd only be able to see right in front of you not to the sides unless you turned your head)

And I'll bet you've never used one of my blindfolds or the Mardi Gras blindfold of Bob Cassidy fame

It is known that I wear glasses during the show and the fact that I have both, MS and Diabetes people assume I have problems with my eyesight (which I do) e.g. to not have my glasses on + the blindfold, etc. It becomes a matter of voluntary assumption that I'm blind as a bat anyhow, just from health factors... they just watched me remove my glasses and proceed to stagger a bit due to blurred vision...

In all the years I've done this, I've only had one magician catch on to the fact that I frequently have someone like the Sears or Wal*Mart Optical departments sponsoring the stunts... and I even do a commercial for them about the new comfort long-wear contacts
