Yeah. Use a thumbwriter ;)

Nah, seriously, nail swami requires your nail to be 'grown'. Also, you can slightly bend the 'moon' of the nail swami to grip a little better.

I got a nail writer yesterday and found it doesn't fit (I cut my nails recently) I'll try again when my nail grows out a bit

This might sound a bit 'girly' but how about using a stick on false nail as and when required?

I have used the vernet TT version a lot. They are good and come in several different designs.

I also have had so much grief lately with these. Even with long, short and medium nails I can't get the perfect position and bend to have faith in it. It is always just on the brink of pinging off at an unpredictable time.

Ive wasted all but one of them in the pack by breaking them with bending until they cracked

maybe they are just not for me..

I didn't like swami's either.

But since then I have bought a boon writer, they are much better, probably not easier to write with, but they are great to wear.

does anyone know a good supplier of the writers described in 13 Steps to Mentalism? I wan't to do as the book suggests and try them all to see which I like best, but I can't find anywhere that says what type it is.

Yep - the 'moon bit' is the part that goes under the nail - bend it so that it forms the shape of your nail. Also - you can bend the 'bent bit' (the part that folds over to where the lead goes) so that tit's a bit tighter on your nail. Experiment a bit and you'll see - but the reason it usually pops off is because the moon bit is too straight. Hmm - someone should put out a book giving names to all the bits of a nail writer...
