There are ways of getting the public to ask you to do tricks without having to approach them directly.

When I was young and in love with magic I used to get crowds around me wherever I went doing magic to strangers but I never went up to a single soul. They came to me.

I did magic everywhere and anywhere. In the park, in a hotel lobby, in a bowling alley, on the top floor of a double decker bus and on a street corner. That is how I got good.

I wouldn't dream of doing this now. It is a procedure for the young and foolish rather than the old making themselves look foolish. The young are foolish already so it doesn't make much difference.

When I am in the mood I will tell you how to draw crowds or at least get an audience with magic but without having to do daft things like approach people. My technique involves pretending to study a book on card tricks.

Maybe later.

By a strange co-incidence linking Alex's situation and pthe power of the mind, check out tonight's (UK) TV as follows:

Horizon Thu 8 Jun, BBC2 9:00 pm - 9:50 pm 50mins
http://www.bbc.co.uk/horizon/
Dr Temple Grandin can talk to the animals, she has a legendary ability to read the animal mind and understand animal behaviour when no-one else can.

But this is no feat of telepathy, her explanation is simple. She's convinced she experiences the world much as an animal does and it's all down to her autistic brain. Labelled retarded at three years old, she didn't learn to speak until she was five but at nearly 60 she's an Associate Professor of Animal Science and the most famous autistic woman on the planet. This is the intimate story of Temple's journey from despair to world wide fame.

Thanks for posting that Mandrake. I will be watching that. Dr Temple Grandin is well know in the Autistic world some like her and some do not.

Everyone who has Autism is very very different. For example; I prefer to sign than speak, some speak very well, sometimes too much :D and some never speak.

This program will be a good insight for everyone with a interest in Autism (or by the sound of it Animal Science) but just remeber it is one persons story and everyone is different.

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.
