I didn't intend to offend anyone by simply using your for sale forum. It in fact seems very odd to me that you would ban someone for using only that forum. It is simply that I had/have nothing on topic to contribute to any of your other forums, but in my travels as a professional entertainer I have an extra magic trick that I have no need for. I thought I would offer it to your readers. In the future - if I weren't banned from using your forums - if had a question or comment to make on magic I would surely have posted it on your boards. Apparently that avenue has been closed to me.

I get the impression that your boards have a hierarchy of importance, and your etiquette states that one not post initially on the for sale forum. I have never encountered this in my travels to various BBSs, and I have been using BBSs for over a decade. It is strange that you hamstring your forums thus, and not allow someone like myself who is not a magician from offering a perfectly good magic trick for sale to your members. Maybe you should make this unwritten policy evident to people like myself who are not magicians but may want to communicate to magicians. I did read your welcome, and rule and etiquette postings and they do not touch on this subject. In fact I got the impression that you "promote, the sales of prop based tricks".

I was not trying to profiteer using your forums. In fact just the opposite. I'd take an offer of virtually nothing for that trick which apparently sells for between 200-400 pounds. I just want to get rid of it. If one looks at it rationally I was offering your community a service, and a favour. But apparently I've offended your sense of netiquette in the process, and apologise.

Ryan

Ryan

Thanks for your apology - but it is unnecessary.

It was very harsh to make an example of you, I know, but it was more the attitude of your second post which lead to the ban.

This forum has a 'trading' facility as a complimentary service to it's *members*. There's a thrust on this forum to try and make it a relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable place. Many other forums which deal soley in trading and swapping become overrun very quickly.

What we're trying to do is keep a clean house, and in order to do that, we try and maintain a few rules. It's not a full-on regimental disciplinary set of rules - more like guidelines to follow to help the community grow. After all, it's good to talk!

Your first posting would have probably made it through the barriers - if the truth be known. It was only your reply, which in honesty seemed rather pompous for a new member, which caused the turbulence. The reasoning behind the trading rules is that like so many other trading websites, this forum has suffered a share of 'pain' through the activities of swaps/trades/sales.

Therefore, it has become a necessity (in order to maintain a level of good spirit) to become an active member BEFORE trading. This way, a small level of trust is established.

Ryan - please accept OUR apologies for taking you at face value. The credible and noble response - and the fact that you've taken the trouble to re-register a new name - imply that you're not the fellow we thought you were. Please feel free to re-advertise your item on the forum. The old one will be duly deleted as to hopefully not mar your character any further.

Regards,

8) 8) 8)
ok you've peeked my interest, what you got??

will pm you with age code.

missed your first post but the mods have had to deal with a few its on e-bay posters and buy this and i copy it for you type's which i know your not one of.

if your a wp like me then you will apreciate a forum thats not jam packed with magic groupees and who's that one done kidies, most of the magic stuff appears to be traded / sold between fellow magician's who may seem a bit secular to someone looking in, but be rest assured we are a likable bunch when you get to know us.

this board is refreshing in its lack of cr*p and comercial drivel our sponser excluded, this is mostly to do with the mods who have a hard job.

please please join us.
