Heya,
My name is Thom and I'm 18. I'm getting into playing around with cards a lot recently and I thought I'd join to try and learn something or teach something. I'm mostly interested in sleights and card manipulation, as most of my hobbies revolve around my quest for ambidexterity and high dexterity at that :) but I learnt how to card count in blackjack recently. That was fun.
Currently I can only do a few things from things I've seen online. I like to make up my own manipulations, cuts, fake shuffles, etc. but most of them are probibly poor quality compared to things most of the people on here can do.
I really don't have much money at all to pay for products with tricks, so I just learn them or invent my own ways. I prefer earning the knowledge of new tricks with other knowledge rather than money.
The way I've learnt things so far is by watching others and reading the free material avaliable online. I managed to learn how to do the standard cobra cut from waching the advert for the DVD and the same with the colour monte trick.
Also, I try to learn everything left-handed and right-handed. A cool part about this is that I find it easy to perform two one-handed tricks at the same time :)
So, any advice on where I should start? I'm quite a beginner but I think I should be able to learn quickly.
Thanks guys :)
~Thom
