I know I know... it isn't anything amazing, or even a magic trick for that matter, but I JUST learned it and I think it's pretty cool, I've only been able to do it for a few hours now, what do you think?

One Handed Cut

Ah the good old charlier cut.
I liked it, was performed smoothly.

Not bad. The only technical comment I have is that you should let the original top packet drop instead of lowering it with the fingers. It lets you speed up the cut and make it a bit more fluid.

Now, 2 weeks of practicing!

Nice.

Keep the index finger and pinky on the short sides when executing the cut to keep the packets square.

And here's a nice little tip after a while of practice... get two decks of cards in their boxes and do the cut with the two boxes. Then try doing the cut with your cards and you feel like it needs no effort at all!

Magic Tricks, Sleights, Flourishes and pretty much anything associated with the Magic Arts is very welcome as a post in the file sharing section. And I am sure that many members here will be keen to review your work.

The Charlier Cut is a very important tool and it is not only used as a flourish. There are tricks that require this manoeuvre to be used as a kind of sleight (which I am sure you will run into in the future )

By the way I thought your performance was pretty smooth by my standards.

Nice Charlie Cut. Can you do it with your right hand also? Once you can do it with both hands smoothly, you can do the Butterfly Cut or other cuts which I've seen but don't know their names of.

actualy I can do it with my right hand as well, it's nowhere near as smooth tho

Thank you Once you have teh Charlier down then you should be able to get teh KatiKut down pretty easily. A couple of days practice, no more. Teh.

i managed to get it after 15mins but its doing it quickly thats killing me

Ya it's actualy not that hard! I can do the katikut now, but only slowly, and rather sloppy.

I'm in love with The KatiKut.

Nice job with your Charlier though, just make it a little more smooth.
