Marc Spelmann Lecture at Ipswich July 3rd

Postby bananafish » Jun 13th, '06, 20:40

Marc Spelmann is coming to lecture at Ipswich Magical Society on Monday July 3rd.

If mentalism is your thing and you are in the area, then you will not want to miss this one.

I am personally really looking forward to this one as I think this guy is an awesome performer, and judging by the effects he has out, an incredibly innovative thinker as well. Mind Control is still one of my all time favourite effects to perform.

If anyone is interested, please contact me. There will be a small charge to visiting magicians.

That's a shame guys. Especially Flashy as his magic is right up your street.

I was fortunate enough to have been at his DVD shoot a few years back and he is the sort of performer that sends shivers right up the back of your spine. I mean we all know at the end of the end of the day it's all just tricks, but he has the persona to make it so very believable. Something not all mentalists can get aways with.

As I said in the first post. If mentailism is your thing, you could learn a lot from this guy.

I'm getting a lot of feedback on this lecture (and some quite big names too), so I thought I would post some answers to questions here.

I have spoken to Marc several times now, and this lectuere is shaping up to be very special. One of the questions he will be addressing is "Magic and Mentalism - and if they should be mixed" if nothing else a quite cntraversial subject. If only Craig Browning could make it :)

Yes - there is a fee for visiting magicians. It is £5
It will be at the normal meeting place for the Ipswich Magical Society. Details of which can be found on the website

If you need batter directions from the A12 or A14 (or in fact from anywhere) then please contact me and I will email them to you.

Just a reminder that this is taking place on Monday.

I've heard that Doug Segal will be coming, and I am hoping that Graham P. Jolley will also be there.

(although of course just having Marc Spelmann there should be enough)

Sadly, due to unforseen circumstances i.e. the fact that I was stupid enough to marry my wife, I cannot be there.
I'm absolutely gutted about it as it was on my list of top lectures to attend for the whole year!!

You DO NOT want to miss an oppertunity to meet and listen to Marc, he is not only a brilliant and inventive performer but a genuinely kind and sharing chap.

Anyone who goes long will be more than happy they took the time and effort!
