The choice

From: http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=95&products_id=4549

Cost: £7.50

Effect:

You tell the spectator that, before you came to see them, you made a prediction.

You take out a small brown envelope and remove three cards. The cards are set face up on the table. The spectator is invited to choose one of the three cards and name it out loud. They can take as long as they like and change their mind as often as they like. When they have made their final decision, you show them that you had chosen that same card in advance!

Works everytime. A good solid metalism trick!

Difficulty: 1/5

Comments:

Can be performed within minutes of reading the instructions, good trick, uses bicycle cards and does get a good reaction. On the down side it can only be performed once, you can not re-do to anyone that has ever seen you do this trick.

That said, I'm glad I've got it and it will be one that I have some fun with  Could do a lot worse for just £7.50.

Just done this on someone, where I bet them £10 I would know which card they would pick, I did a number of other tricks but this was the one that had the most impact.

The fact that their choce was completely free and yet they still chose the card I had predicted and that I was confident enough to put £10 on it really blew them away

Well that can't be bad. Sounds like this trick will pay for itself and more.

I trust you will be splitting the £10 you won with Yankee Tom? :) and err, me? just because I'm such a nice chap?

I must admit that I like the simplicity of Yankee Toms tricks - many are going back to the basics of magic, a lesson we all need to re-learn sometimes.

I would split it of course, but it was a one way bet, I paid them if I got it wrong, they didn't pay me if I got it right. Can't afford to lose friends

By the way, I've found 50/50 works well after this one, in as much as you got their card from a choce of 3 now lets see if they can get your card from a choice of 2 and 4 or 5 attempts
