What trick to get (Time Machine maybe?)

Postby Delude » Jun 19th, '06, 19:46

Hey All :D I'm thinking of what to splash some money out on at the minute and have forgotten all the tricks i had interest in before i went to france. I was thinking of possibly getting a time machine watch but am not sure which one, i am 13 so i don't want it looking like old and unfasionable (lol) and don't want it too big either. Which should i get? If not, any other new tricks i should look at? It's hard to keep up with all the reviews and everyhting as i havn't been on Tm for over a week. I was looking at the david blaine trick 'phoneomenom' but it said something about audience management so maybe it's not as impromptu as i thought.

Thanks :D

If you got this time machine (pictured below) you could always put the face on a sports style strap so size would not be a problem and it would look a bit more moden.

This is the link I got the picture from http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=538

If you're gonna get the Time Machine - try Ebay (Am I allowed to advertise Ebay here lol  ?? Apologies if I'm not  ) as they tend to be alot cheaper, although you may be taking a risk if you buy a second hand one :(

A few hints 'n' tips here too that may help

Can you fit it with like velcro straps, like the surfy style ones? Or can you have links removed from the masters time machine? [I was thinking about eBay actually moonbeam :D]

Problem is though there are no masters time mahciens [the silver one] on eBay at the minute, i think i may have only seen one before but all people are selling is the original one. I would much prefer a buy it now, there was somebody wiyth a shop on there selling the original time machine watches for like £25

I believe you can remove the whole strap just leaving the two small bars on either side of the face so you can slip a velcro strap on. But I would double check this when / if you buy one.

The mechanism for this trick is totally self-contained within the watch itself, so you can change the watch strap if you wanted to 8)

I walked into B and q for some new locks for my escape chains (basically in and out quick n easy escapology, nuff said, it isn't relevant really)

Got some help from one of those semi-retired guys who seemingly are actually interested inthe customer.

Demo'd the chain (hidden of course!) to show the kind of lock I needed.

Old and wise one was shocked. had to repeat 3 times. Then he calls his mate over and i find out that they are ex-prison guards. (looks of the second one there is no doubt!)

Number 2 watches and has his own wrong pet theory as to how the chains work.

I casually ask if they have time to watch (oh look at the pun) something else, I remove my watch. Of course they have, they are interested people now.

And I do time machine. Mine is the leather strap version, which is I think cheaper and more classy. Yes ebay is cheaper, but I pay for refundability if something goes wrong (though I have been in the past an ebay trader I don't trust all of it!)

The most fun was walking away whilst they picked their collective jaws up from the floor.

Now tell me, how many tricks could you do THAT spontaneously!

Hi Mr D,

I just purchased one of these from ebay myself (I agree with the above comments on refundability by the way), mine is the Gentleman's Time Machine (what else) and looks like the picture below.. You can also purchase a black, gold and fob watch versions. Having reread a very old thread, there's also another option, called "Watch and Wear" although this is rarer and quite pricey I think it is very high quality.

I recall seeing that one on eBay flash :D Not too long ago.

Can i ask if anybody has bought a time machin e from eBay. I have found a masters time machine watch and it is £39.99 buy it now [good or bad price for ebay?]. i was wandering if the time machine is a trick that it likely to break, or if you might need some sort of asisstance o a warranty or something. Also, are there full instructions for the watch like how to change the battery?

Could someone please say which time machine would be better for a 13 year old boy? I do like the gentlemens time machine and I'm sure i could get it to suit me by maybe just changing the strap. I wa sjust wandering how easy it is to tell the exact time on the gentlemens as it is alot smaller, if a spectator looked at the watch could they say wether it was 7:42 or would they just say 7:40. I mean as the squares to show the minutes are quite small, can they clearly be seen?

[waiting for Flash to come and answer m question... ]

Can't say it's a problem old bean, but I don't know the size of the other watches so I'm unsure as to how clear they are.. I get the speccy to hold the strap, so it's in their hand anyway and they can examine it to their hearts content...

I must admit that mine didn't come with very complete info, no DVD or anything, just a slip of paper that gave the basics of achieving the effect, so I'm hoping that a jeweler will be able to change the battery when it eventually dies.

Flash, i think that's what they're meant to come with isn'it it? Which watch do yuo think would go better for me, the masters time machine or the gentlemens time machine. [I am 13]. Aparantly the masters time machine strap is massive but I'm not sure if the gentlemens would go with me, it might if i changed the strap but I'm not sure. I actually really do like the gentlemens time machine and i suppose if i got that then it ould last me for absolute years as it would fit and still look good when I'm older too.

What do you peeps think?
