Ventrue seems to be my forte. I'm sure that's not something to write home about, but then neither is being a Malkavian!

If only I had a more high-class accent

Well we all have our cross to bear.

What kind of accent do you have?

It's quite the cross

Well I'm from Ipswich, Suffolk.

So basically I speak Suffolk dialect half the time, leading to much confusing for non-suffolk folk. My actual accent is an Ipswich one, which isn't as broad as a lot of places in Suffolk (ie, I am understandable, I just pronounce things oddly). But because I am painfully aware of having an accent, some of the time I speak in a 'proper' accent, and so end up sounding like a weird hybrid.... But when I make an effort (usually with people I've just met) I sound fairly normal :)

I think most accents are pretty cool.

Unfortunately I have a generic southern accent that occasionally branches into slightly posh southerner (gets on my nerves when I catch myself sounding like it). When I talk to anyone for any length of time, I start to pick up their accent, without really meaning to.

I catch myself taking on speech patterns, and accents, and have to try to stop myself in case anyone thinks I'm taking the mick. Nobody seems to have noticed though.

I'd rather have the generic accent. Makes for less mocking.

Hehe. I'd like to hear you trying to copy my accent!

I know what you mean about picking up people's accents though, when I spend any length of time with my boyfriend I go home talking like him (and using longer words  )

All this talk of VtM has made me think back upon my wonderful days in the realm of loserdom.... and the countless hours I spent roleplaying.

So - aside from Vampire - what other games are people guilty of playing?

 Are you calling me a loser?

Well, you're probably right.

I play one of the other WoD games, the werewolf one.

And I mess around in a few other things as well. My sad factor increases...(Anne Rice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings)

I've only very recently moved into the 21st century with satellite TV (freesat thingy), and was surprised to find that the horror channel seems to be free.

They've run a couple of Troma films recently - now that's what I call good horror :)

Of course I am calling you a loser! We can smell our own!

I'm not a fan of Anne Rice. I've always had a problem with her being considered the heir apparent to Bram Stoker. I consider her one of the culprits behind the watering down of the true meaning of gothic literature.

Werewolf - I didn't play much of that one. I dabbled, but rather briefly. Really WoD was more or less my exit. After a while with those games I stopped altogether. I was interested in Mage and Wraith, but never got around to checking them out. Are you familiar with either of those?

Who am I to deny my loserdom?

Hmmm. Anne Rice is a tough one for me. I don't like her writing style, and a lot (most) of her plots are tenuous, but I do like her characters and they are fun to play with. Much better gothic lit out there!

I'm not familiar with Mage or Wraith. Probably because I don't know anyone else who plays them.

I really only play V:tm now, I don't have enough free time for much else. And I'm a lazy student bean.

Did you ever switch over to the Requiem system? I don't know much about it, but it sounds like they really gutted the old system.
