Hope you had a great birthday, and good luck with your plans :D.

Back on the wine front, I've decided to go budget, and dropped my former recommendations in favour of a Sainsbury's Basics - Spanish Red Wine. It's labelled "Vino de Mesa" (table wine), so we are pretty sure what we're getting...

It's fairly light with berry fruit flavours, though a touch thin and slightly acidic for my tastes. Certainly very drinkable though - I've paid more for worse wines.

It's very suited to a nice warm day possibly by the river with a picnic, followed by a game of pooh sticks, then falling in the river, and having to be rescued by a shocked young family. It's also fairly wino er... wine-lover friendly, as it comes with a screw cap, meaning you can have easy access to the wine even without a corkscrew.

Not a wine to sip and impress, but a wine to quaff and roll about in the sun. You can't go too far wrong for £2.10 a bottle :D

I wanna join the police force... didn't know about Russian being an advantage though :D

I am an ex-policeman & wouldn't advise joining. Most police I know want to leave but are stuck there without any other options apart from being a security officer. Your life is ruled by them & they frown upon you having another 'job' such as being a magician.

I learnt Russian at school and visited Leningrad & Moscow in the communist era (1980).

My other hobbies are:
- chess (I play in the Thames Valley league, Hillingdon league and occasionally for Middlesex)
- Judo (Black Belt but retired now due to a knackered back)
- 20 years of dabbling with most other martial arts (knackered back means I can't do this anymore)
- 50's Jiving
- Science Fiction (books & films)
- Poker
- running & weight training (both in the gym)

and I sometimes have to find time to fit work, the wife and family in to my schedule too :D

I adore the art/sport of falconry.

I don't have my own bird at present but I do go to my local centre as often as possible to practice my sport and hunt.

I'm hoping to get a hawk of my own in the near future, once I find a suitable course.

I love going to the theatre, the last thing I saw was Sweeney Todd starring Jason Donovan, he was extremely good and very chilling as the demon barber.

I love German culture, the language and anything related to Germany, particuarly Bavaria, I'm currently learning the language at evening classes and will be going to Munich during the first week of Oktoberfest.

My other hobbies include reading, I will read literally anything though I tend to prefer non fiction as I can always learn somethin, no matter how obscure.
I love music, particuarly heavy metal and classical though I will listen to almost anything.

I enjoy watching films and have recently began to watch foreign films, particuarly French and Foreign films.

I also volunteer.

Finally I'm going to make myself sound like a pig, but I enjoy eating out and trying new cuisines.

My favourites at the moment being Italian and Japanese.

Guitar seems to be a popular one, eh? Myself included.

I also like:
Obscure indie music, the listening to and collecting of (vinyl)
Films... I'd clarify that with "arthouse", but I'm not a foreign film bore... what I mean is, subtitles don't put me off, big explosions or hollywood stars don't turn me on. Independent cinemas rock.
White water kayaking + power kiting
Real ale, although I also love red wine and am steadily becoming more experienced on the subject!
Poker
Cooking... my real love. My favourite place to be is in a well-equipped and well-stocked kitchen, a decent knife in one hand, a large glass of red in the other and something good on the stereo.

I'm also pretty involved with a church, which might not be a common occurrence in these here "magick realms", but you guys seem like a tolerant and friendly lot!

Oh, and, er... cutting up dead people to look at their insides. It's not really a hobby, more like training, but I still enjoy it...

Chameleons are one of those bands people always tell me I should get into and say that I'll like, but when I get to a record shop there's always something else that catches my eye first...!
