David Blaine's At It Again.

Okay. I was looking at Yahoo! and I saw this. It said "David Blaine to live in aquarium for 7 days." He's currently training underwater for this whole thing. He will have a show on ABC on May 8th. It will be 2 hours long.

The story can be found here:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060413/ap_ ... id_blaine'

So...What do you guys think of all of this? I think it's pretty cool...But I'm kind of skeptical. We'll see.

Thanks,
Dominick

It's interesting to say the least. I saw blaine in london sitting in his little box .... that didn't impress me too much. I saw the vids of him standing on his pole .... that didn't do much for me either.

7 days underwater, well its more impressive than the two mentioned, will get him tons of new publicity, make him millions of pounds through sponsorship and merchandise.

You have to give it to the man, he knows how to create a fuss about himself.

I feel the same as Ourcheers, Mr Blaine has not impressed me with his endurance stunts.

If he was 7days under water without air I would tune in to watch that.

I made my wife dissapear just by arguing with her!!!

Hmmm...

Have you seen Criss Angels submerged before? Sound awfully similar.
Maybe Blaine's trying to out-do him by staying submerged for longer....

This is practically impossible! The average man can hold his breath for something like 2mins, and the world record is held by someone called Tom Sietas of Germany who stayed under for 8 minutes, 47 seconds!

Now, I would be very, very, very surprised if somebody could hold their breath hundreds of times longer than the world record!

Who said hundreds of times? Read the article again

"He will conclude by attempting to hold his breath underwater longer than the record of 8 minutes, 58 seconds."

8 mins 59 seconds should do it

 Dominick said it.

It said "David Blaine to live in aquarium for 7 days."

I didn't read the article, I guess I should have

My bad

Edit: Ah! I think I understand now. Is he going to live underwater with breathing equipment?

yes, and a liquid food pipe to nourishment. I hate to think of the colour of the water when he has finished, and I certainly hope he doesnt swallow any

He will live in a spherical aquarium for seven days. There will be air inside, as there are in aquariums. The stunt itself is the fact he will be living in water...for seven days...then he'll hold his breath for a long time. Make sure you read the article!!

A thought has just occured

Will he breathe normal air before he attempts the world record or will it be tanked oxygen (that is will he come up for air first)? I know nothing about diving so I'm asking anyone who does... would it make a difference?

(I fell asleep in the bath for eight hours when I was a student, my feet wrinkled up so badly that walking was agony for days)

Haha! I can't think of anything to top yours! Ha!

I just skimmed through the article again and it said he's entering May 1st...Which is just around the corner! I have a question though...I read the article, I think twice, and I can't seem to find where it will be held...I'll look through again.

EDIT: It was in the first sentence...

The 33-year-old magician will perform his latest stunt by living underwater for seven days and nights in a "human aquarium" in front of New York's Lincoln Center.

Haha...I have to start paying more attention.

Thanks,

When we breathe normal air only about 20% is oxgen so if it was tanked pure oxygen, it may make a difference.
