Sinful... Coin through soda can!

Postby B0bbY_CaT » May 13th, '06, 14:58

what is Sinful?
a coin penetrates the base of a sealed soda can.

difficulty?
lots of very precise moves to learn, yet very easy... the ONLY necessary ingrediant is practice.

DVD content:
this is a great DVD. the trick is very well explained by BOTH the inventor Wayne Houchin, and one of Magic's most influential performers Criss Angel. in addition to the explaination of the trick, it's presentation and key points you will need to know to perform the trick successfully, this DVD also features a preview of the Mindfreak series and an interesting interview with Criss Angel.

the trick:
borrow ANY soda or beer can . the can is NOT gimmicked. borrow any quarter (or similar size equivalent) the coin is NOT gimmicked. have a spectator sign the borrowed coin and hand it to you. on completion of the trick, you will have literally put the coin into the soda can and you can then pass the can, containg THE SPECTATOR's signed coin to the spectator for examination. THEY can totally inspect the can, the coin, everything. YOU are totally CLEAN!

summary:
OK, so we have all bought DVD's and then on discovering the "trick" or the "gimmick" we feel cheated. how often do we hear that the DVD is too expensive and the trick was so simple and easy i feel like i got "bad value". well... we should stop and consider, we are not just paying for a "movie", we are buying someone's intellectual property... and at an average cost of $20 - $25 that is quite good value. having said that, there have been some tricks i have seen in the past where i cant help but feel a little "cheated" ( i know shouldn't think that way but...)

well friends, Sinful is one trick YOU WILL NEVER FEEL CHEATED YOU PAID FOR!!! yes it is unbelievably simple. yes it is totally impromptu and requires no set up and leaves you 100% clean. normally the question that would now come to mind is this... "if that is the case, then where is the value in buying the DVD??? what am i getting for my money?"

what you are getting, is a handling, so brilliant, so well thought out and so "perfect" for this particular illusion, you NEVER would have thought of it yourself in a million years!

this is a MUST own DVD for ANYONE interested in magic. a MUST! i did the trick for around a dozen friends for the first time today at a BBQ. after successfully executing the trick, i knew i had done well when one of my friends said "check the base of the can, it must be a trick can, check the base of the can for a trick door". then another friend replied, "no, i gave him the can, it was straight out of the ice box, i gave it to him". the way i figure it, if it worked to a point where the only conclusion a spectator could come to was that there must be a "trap door" in the base of a "gimmicked" can... the rest of my handling must have been good.

If you only buy ONE DVD this year... make it this one, Coin Through Soda Can, one of the cleverist tricks i have ever seen.

a score?
10/10... no question!

yeh, i got it mate but putting an entire review on top of of someone else's review would be rude. my review includes my feelings as an owner of the DVD, rather than my opinions or thoughts on someone else's review. i am a big fan of advocating people use the search tool in most cases, just not in this one... it would have been inappropriate.

Still though - we prefer to keep all the reviews for a single product together in the same thread - so please next time, could you add your reveiw to the thread that already exists.

It helps keep the reviews less cluttered.

Thanks all the same for writing the review...

if we all did this, then we would have one thread for every subject, and each thread would have 100's, 1000's of posts which would make any of us posting a waste of time because people's opinions would quickly get burried...

look at the other review for this product... could you or anyone be bothered searching through around 200 posts?

i agree that all posts specifically related to an original thread are best kept within that thread, but my post was my opinion of a DVD i own. i felt putting that on top of someone else's opinion would be both rude and messy. and in fairness to the other guy, my post doesn't challenege or comment on his post therefore it really has no right being part of his post.

if you are trying to simplify this forum, replies and comments that DONT relate to an original thread are THE biggest problem... you know, someone posts an opinion, then 2 members get into a continuous back and forward dispute about whether or not it was disclosure, or why someone didn't use the search tool. the poor guy who went to the trouble of making the original post has his message lost amongst ego flexing.

anyways, if you prefer to have any new review part of someone else's old review, i am happy to comply in future... dont agree it's the best way but happy to comply.

This is one of those 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' posts.

One one hand you're right in having to wade through hundreds of posts in that good posts can get lost but also, if everyone who owned Sinful wrote a review then you'll end up with far too many reviews.

Just imagine having to read 30+ reviews on different pages.

My opinion is that it's important to keep posts on a particular topic together and I don't think that anyone should mind if you post a second review, or third for that matter within the original thread.

Much of what is written after the main review gives personal opinion anyway and everyone has a chance to agree, disagree or expand.

Magictricks.co.uk is my friend!! :D

On there, on the dvds section... you might have to wade through some stuff to find it, but it's definitely on there.
Reasonably priced too!
And delivery is pretty much next day if you order at a sensible time of day :D

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Bobby,

No disprect to you feller, but when previous posts have been made on a forum on the same topic, you should follow suit :? No pun intended.

I host other forums and would not see it right to create your own threads about something already there, its disrespectful and you should post on the already existing threads 8)
