I don't thin you are...

Nah ur probably not...but u are a minority!
I saw one female magician in a shop in london recently but she was...well....c*** (not the best). She didn't patter, she classic forced a card and was like ok "its the 10 of diamonds" and the guy was like...eh...yeh...and she was like..."Yeh! Great trick right?" and everyone was silent...
Anyway...keep up the magic cos female magicians are rare, an endangered species if you like.

Ohh, nice thread. Even if it's an old one!

I think in some ways it's better to be a female magician because no one expects you to be! I can look all sweet and innocent...and then blow their minds. It's really a lot of fun.

And we females can definitely get CUPS. I'm not letting myself go back to that magic shop until after the holidays at least...well, maybe once more. :)

I've often been curious about the apparant lack of female magicians. I think it must be partly the tall man with a top hat associations. When you say "magician", the average person thinks David Copperfield or Houdini. We need some high profile female magicians out there!

Women are clearly under represented in magic. I often hear the claim (from guys) that doing magic must be a wonderful way of chatting up women. I just wonder if we really do magic because of some uncouncious need to chat up or impress women. Maybe this is a motivation behind some male magicians interest in magic. I think I still would do magic in a world without women. But what a horrible thought..........

Hope we will see some more women on this forum...

Magic is slight of mind!

Well I'm female and trying to be a magician.

I agree that there are very few of us around. I think that there are a couple of reasons for this. There are cultural reasons, as I've said on another thread, how many blokes do you see at a yoga class? Also I think the male brain on the whole is more suited to magic, it's been proven to be more logical thinking than the female brain. We're more empathic and emotional in our way of thinking.

nope, your one of 2 female magicians in the world...... just kidding, but that does bring up a good point. Then again (I think) I'm the only magician in my school so I don't personally know any magicians :?

Its not that we think its weird that there are girl magicians. Its just they are rare in some parts of the world. I live in the USA and never saw a female magician on TV, or on video, or on the street. They are usually the magicians assistant.

Ehemmm...
Perhaps there are a few very good female magicians overshadowed by a lot of bad male magicians?

But please read this!

I've seen quite a few of her videos, she really is brilliant! Her handling is just supurb, very very impressive.

Lady of Mystery... Lindz...
The thread ABOUT Juliana Chen is here. It's frustrating to write a thread that get's answered and commented on, in a different thread...

Postby aceberserker » Mar 23rd, '07, 15:27

There is a transexual magician, male to female, I can't recall her/his name. With respect I will say she, and she's quite good.
