Other similar size comical items are:

1. Marmite
2. Vaseline
etc.

James!

I've actually tried your effect with a pot of Vaseline and the reaction was hilarious. Quite unexpected, and utterly obsurd.

Nice production by the way, sells like hotcakes from my store.

Look forward to SFAPOJ II

I think I deserve a prize, as a direct result of my loud recommendations at least six other people have bought the dvd. And I told Oz Perlmann to check it out. Hows that for free marketing?

Hiya.

It's a tiny 'lip balm' vaseline pot, grammage unknown as I don't have it to hand.

My sister uses Vaseline for her baby, and she has tiny jars, about 50g.

Earlier I came up with what could be a nice ending, you could load say three or four sponge balls all nicely squished up so when you open your hand they leap out in a wondrous fashion. That would be a lovely clean transition to a spongeball routine, unfortunately I can't find mine so I'll have to buy some more before I can attempt it.

This dvd is great ! :D The card opener is something, you have to saw it to understand what im meaning. I will definitively use it. It combine all good effects in a card trick. James perform all the trick so well, he's funny, energic and he got great skills. I'm looking forward for more dvd of him.

I have been performing the card opener for a week or two now, i had my first (sort of) paid gig the other night at a bar that my friend runs. I used this as my opener, i especially love the use of the hot shot cut to wow the specs, only to discover its not their card, and then to have it change to theirs in their hands (Sankeys Impossible opener, as credited on the DVD).

BINGO!!! thanks for that.

And thanks to everyone for the advice earlier in the thread.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but i just watched this today and its absolutly brilliant. I love all the misdirection stuff anyway plus the watch steal is a good bonus as its something im trying to learn. I found the funniest thing today to use for the pot of jam trick its one of my sons toy marchens{ alien type thing} and its the perfect size about the same as the jam. I like all the routines on this dvd i think my favorite is spectators card to sealed envelope but i think i am gonna have a long few months now to learn some of the effects then change the patter and maybe change a few moves so when ive finished ill have a good few tricks courtesy of James inspiration. Hope to see some more of your work soon James.

After purchasing this last week and spending many many hours over the weekend watching an taking in the material, I can honestly say that this is the best magic purchase I have made in a very long time. I can't recommend this highly enough and I'm just sorry I didn't get it sooner!

Incidently, does anyone perform the diminishing switch? I have a minor problem with the handling and wondered if anyone would be able to help via PM?

Cheers.

Can anyone offer me some advice on the pot of jam effect, trying to be cagey hear but at the last showing of the 11p...

You show the two coins in your open hand, you take one coin out put it in your pocket & then produce the jam. What happened to the other coin in your hand, at what point does that get ditched & how. Also at what point does the gimmick get split?

Good DVD, only just got today & have only watched as far as the pot of jam but the explanations are a little bit rushed, I rewind the jam one 3 - 4 times but could find no explanation of what I've asked above?

Simply, the gimmick stays in one piece. You take it as you load the jam and only show the one side, the side that doesn't reveal anything. Then put the whole thing in your pocket and you're clean for the end, pm me if you like, I expect this might still leave a few queries but it's hard to answer in public.

The gimmick you refer to remains intact, as it is not open to suspicion.

It is quite clear from the DVD.

Finally got this dvd in the post this morning! Watched it through for the first time and was amazed at how much you actually get for your money! Once i have watched it a few more times and practiced a lot, i am going to use all the effects in there regularly!

Thanks James for this great DVD! Looking forward to the next one!
