XCM is marketing, but so is everything in a magic shop really.

I don't think you are understanding. I never said that XCM is marketing, because it isn't.

What I said is that the term XCM is marketing. Not the art/sport, but the name for it. The name Xtreme Card Manipulation is a brand name. It's a brand name for card flourishing. That's all it is.

I never said people shouldn't practice it, or that I don't like it, or that it isn't any good. I have not spoken badly of XCM at all. What I said is simply that the term XCM is a marketing term. There is no difference between flourishing and XCM except that the term XCM is trademarked while the term flourishing is not.

As for differences between Core Duo and X2, there aren't huge differences as you claim. You can look up more technical details on them if you'd like. Here is a good explenation in non-technical terms: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm? ... 797&page=3

Notice that the article is called "The Technology Behind Dual Core CPUs". That website, as with all those knowledgable in the industry recognize that both Core Duo and X2 are, when you get to the bottom line, just brand names for the same thing, a technology to combine two cores into one die. Sure, there are minor differences in implementation (AMD cpu cores can communicate with each other within the same processor, while Intel ones cannot), but the technologies both do the same thing, they combine two CPUs into one die. Why are they called X2 and Core Duo instead of just calling them dual core? Because you can't trademark the term dual core, but you can trademark X2 or Core 2 Duo.
