I think that the person hearing voices needs some help, regardless of whether one believes in demons, witchcraft, the paranormal, or any other phenomena. One can explain it as phychosis or that the person is actually being tempted by a demon, neither situation is good for that person or anyone who cares about that person. Lucas, if you can, get that person some help. If you can't, I would recommend distancing yourself and advising anyone you care about to do the same until that person gets some help.

As for the possiblity of such phenomena, we just do not know. Please remember that a few hundred years ago "current scientific thought" stated that the sun orbited the earth. Astrology was considered science at one time. Just because we cannot prove something exists does not mean that it doesn't. Conversely, just because we believe we have proven something based on our current science does not mean that thing that we have "proven" is correct. And just because we have given up on certain things does not mean that they are wrong. The medical community shunned leaches and Chinese traditional medicine, and are now using leaches and reviewing their views on Chinese traditional medicine. So, to end this long rambling post, don't do so quick to say that something does not exist, we just do not know.

Lucas, if you're still around on the boards... suggest your friend read Faust

Much the same thing.

Man signs contract with the Devil for his soul.
Things go awry.

These things always end in tears...

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

an electrical pulse of some kind, an echo or residue from the "soul" - which in turn is what as i see as the electrical-core of someone...

the thing that powers us, and drives us...so, if you are empathic, its just that you are more sensitive to another's "charge" so to speak...

this is all personally speaking of course, i've had many an empathic experience in my life...

According to a letter in New Scientist earlier this year, you can modulate the sustained discharge generated by a Van Der Graff generator with an audio signal. That would be seriously impressive for a stage effect.

Firstly lets take astrology, many magicians pass this off as fake. And I'm sure that many astrologers are using the same techniques used by magicians in fake tarot and palm readings. But the truth is that the planets alignments do have a magnetic and gravitational effects on the earth. Magentic and gravitational forces have been proven to alter the way the mind works and it's mood. Because of this, it's highly possible that the alignment of the planets and their gravo/magnetic effect on the earth could alter the way we behave and act. At birth, our brains are still developing, could these gravo-magnetic forces effect the way a babies brain develops and their eventual personality. Astrology is suddenly a lot more feasible.

Iv done a 12 week full time course in astrology and i have to say did firmly believe in it 100% for the reasosn you have given above

BUT

I had the chance to talk to a very eminant astonomer at an observatory near me. He said where the planets are actually is massively off the mark from where they should be at any given time according to astrology. When the ephermeris (if thats the right spelling) were designed (they are books plotting the position of planets in astrology) the exact length of planets orbits were unknown. Minute differences in calculations ment that over the thousands of years, planets moved away from the paths people expected them to follow.

In short - for example, when astrology says a planet is 10 degrees in libra, go to an observatory and youll find it isnt anywhere near! How can the planets really affect us when they arnt even where we think they are! We are making predictions based on where we think the plantes are, not where they really are

Actually, it depends on the system you are using and how deep into the science of astrology you happen to be.

What most folks forget is that up until roughly 80 years ago Astronomy and Astrology were one in the same SCIENCE... it wasn't until the 1920s that the real seperation started happening between the two and at that Astronomers still use Astrological terms and references.

It boils down to what I try to get folks to better understand and look for; teh lore and myth hosts a truth within it, it always has and if you look for it, you can always find the connections.

Retard?

Excuse me?

I think you'd best learn who you are talking to and what their background is before you show off your IQ.

Well, I just reviewed the twit's profile... at least he admits he's 13, can't spell worth a squat and if you read through his pasts posts, you'll see that this is a habit of his... shooting off his mouth prior to engaging brain... a common syndrome of 13 year old boys seeking an identity. But that's not an excuse for poor form, which this one seems to be thriving on.

I honestly can't suggest what needs to be done in this case in that his present mind-set is one of not caring... as if he wants to be banned from places just to get his jollies.
