Postby Airamas » Dec 5th, '06, 15:04

I have been and am still looking for an ADULT magic forum that respects KNOWLEGE. I hope I have found it in Talk Magic?

At 45 years old I am a bit of a curmudgeon with little tolerance for the children of today thinking the world owes them something.

Magic is not someone’s RIGHT. It is an exclusive club whose members take pride in there commitment to the art in both time and money. I have invested both w 35 years + in the art and thousands of dollar invested.

So Please if your a 15 year old finger flanger with little to no EXPIERENCE you would do well to LEAVE MY POSTS ALONE.

I have forgotten more about magic than you know and don't appreciate OPINIONS when I deal in FACTS.

I know that this is probably an unusual way of introducing oneself but I want things strait from the start to be HONEST and this is who I am in magic.

Aside from the above statements if you need help {not the secret to a trick} I will be glad to give of myself, just ask respectfully as you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

You may ask yourself or me for that matter given my above statement why have I lashed out so? Well I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to TALK MAGIC. Thank you.

Hi Airamas,

Have you met our very own Craig Browning at all? I think you two might have a lot in common.

hey! your name backwards is this!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samaria

anyway, hope you have fun and try not to be too much of a grizzly old wolf eh!

EDIT: more often than not, facts are matters of opinion...i hope you're not one of those types that just inforce their word as gospel, and are therefore blinkered in their ways...

as well as reject other's ideas and opinions just cause they feel they are somehow "better" than the rest of us and that we've not been into these arts (or indeed alive) for as long as they have

Hi Airamas and welcome.

But don't be too harsh on those 15 year old 'finger flangers' or what ever you call them. You were one of them once and the majority just want to learn, even if they don't always go about it the right way.

Very good I was aware of its biblical and geological significance but I'm somewhat impressed by your investigative skills.

If you had done this to me in person say at your show during a mental act I might have even been a little frightened. Good work.

whose to say i have a mental show? i might be one of those darn sponge-bunny magicians!

it's almost as if you have prior knowledge of me! *cue dramatic music*

it's strange how you can tell how people really are as much as by what they don't write as well as what they do...

I would have thought that your psychic abilities would have told you.

I'm originally from NYC and have recently relocated to Nebraska even though I maintain an apartment in New York.

The bulk of my experience is that of a Mentalist but I am well versed in all areas of magic. But don't ask me about card trick as I loath most of them. Recently I have and am working as a bizarrist which lets me use Magic techniques as though they were Mentalism. That means that I use the simplest methods to accomplish the effect allowing me to concentrate on presentation.

Thank you for asking. What about you and the others who have been so welcoming?

Have you ever worked as a reader? This is something that has generated great controversy on the board over the past few months, so it'd be nice to get a fresh perspective from a new voice - that's if you have experience of that "grey" area. There's much opinion and not enough fact, if you see what I mean.

Me, I started with a tarot deck in school, but dumped it and returned to magic through an interest in applied psychology, got into mentalism via that and then into card work. I now combine it all into one thing that I don't think really has a name other than entertainment, I suppose. The only goal is to get invited to more parties, but you never know where it might lead.
