I haven't been to the bunny forum because, I may be mistaken, it's largely populated by kids.

same goes for most forums, i think you would find it similar in age quantities to talkmagic, to be honest a few 'kids' on this and other forums have been very helpful, IE. delude etc. (there are other but cant think of them , oh the irony)

what im trying to say is dont tie them all in with the same brush, sure most will have forgoten about magic before Ellusionist will be sending their next order but quite a few are good guys and need encouragement so try not to have a negative kid attitude.

anyway on with the post,

when i first got into magic i only used this forum im now a regular poster on 4, broaden your horizens, you will be suprised.

PS. i am in noway caling delude a kid, for a 16 year old i have found him extremly mature, and a great magician

I was a kid myself once. At 16/17 I was performing live comedy in clubs across London. Looking back now, I can remember really looking up to the other guys who were working 4 nights a week and going on college tours. When you're 16 and just dropped out of your A levels, it seems a pretty good life. As you get older, you realise how low your aspirations really were.

I also remember listening avidly to the other comedians, buying them pints and lapping up their words of wisdom and it took a few years to learn that there is no one way of doing things. There is just the way this or that guy did things. And just like the old school of magic harp on about the internet and DVDs and how easy it is for the latest generation, mainstream comedians would gripe about alternative comedians, who griped about character comedians and so on. And we all b1t1ched about so-and-so who'd only done 8 live gigs and got work on TV.

My problem with kids on magic forums has nothing to do with individual people but with the culture of dependency (which is rife in magic) that they help perpetuate. When you're in your early teens you want mentors and people to look up to. This is fine, you need an idol to learn he has clay feet so you can start thinking for yourself. However, a large percentage of kids posting dramatically reduces the likelihood of original ideas.

Tomo, Mike Jay is a long-time member here with over 200 posts. What's wrong with him contributing to the thread that Craig started here, like any other member?

A cheap shot? Who started this thread? This whole thing feels like a cheap shot to me...

By the way, did anyone really catch the irony of this:

Mr. Browning wrote:All I can say is that I apologies to you all for this... I'm not apologiesing for Mike's antics but certainly for my own and how this issue got drug out of one forum into another by others.

Drug out of one forum and into another by others?

By others?

Just off hand, who started this ball rolling?

Mike.

I just felt it was unfair to pull his conduct on other forums into a conversation on TM. If there's a problem with his conduct on other forums, surely the thing to do is to pull him up about that on those forums, not have a go at him here.

Other than the odd rant, Craig acts responsibly and helpfully here at TM.

His conduct on another forum is specifically what this thread is about and he started the whole thing. There are plenty of members of these forums that visit our site and vice-versa; it is no big secret who Craig is talking about.

The only reason I ever posted on this thread to begin with is because there are two sides to the coin and I was growing increasingly tired with everyone only seeing one side.

I've gone back and read Craig's posts on these pages and he treats you folks with a great deal of respect, even when he's being more acerbic. However, on our pages, the members have grown tired of being called pigs and idiots and a plethora of other insults. A plethora. You can only be treated like dirt for so long before you have to put a stop to it.

That list of quotes was lifted from 6 posts (less, I think). As one member pointed out, you cannot judge those quotes taken out of context and I fully agree with that...But, that is not the point. The point is the sheer volume of insults found in a very, very few posts (and I could honestly double that list, at least, from the same posts that those were lifted from). One or two may not be so bad, but the constant bombardment of vitriol has gone on for too long on our pages.

Craig further comments on how our pages have become confrontational. Okay, fully accepted. What does Craig do about it? He starts a topic designed for nothing but confrontation.

:?: Makes me wonder.

Ah, well.

Mike.

Am I wrong in thinking that you should take action at Magic Bunny if you think his behaviour is unacceptable there.

Sorry, it's just my opinion, but perhaps people thought that by being understanding and supportive here we might have helped to change how he relates to people on other forums.

Dunno really. It's all gone wrong on that score anyway now, hasn't it.

EDIT: The first direct mention of Magic Bunny is by you on page 3. I don't know about other people, but I wouldn't have known which forum he was talking about if you hadn't mentioned it.

Actually Michael I never mention the bunny or where the problem or concern I was having was at, it was your own guilt over the issue and your need to defend that antics of your chums that brought about the identity of the forum and drug dirty laundry from one forum into another... not to bother though, I've decided to no longer bother with a bunch of ingrates though I have had several of your quieter members apologies to me and beg me to stick around.

No... I'm not officially "leaving" the Bunny again... just not wasting my time with it.

I realise that this little squabble has very little to do with me and therefore it is probably best that i stay out of it but something has to be said. You guys have all said how "Bunny" and "Magic Cafe'" (which neither i have heard of) are very tense and argumentetive, but while you guys are arguing here you a bringing some of them two forums into TM.

Now I'm only 14 but it seems obvious to me that TM is a one of a kind community. Everyone is helpful to everyone and everyone is very friendly. Surely this thread should just be closed now, before personal attacks start and the family-type atmosphere is tarnished? Just a thought.

Words of wisdom there from Sam.

I can see why Mikey had to other his 2 cents on the argument otherwise it would have become one sided argument, And I am glad he did show both sides of the coin, I think the bset thing we can do is actually see what was said etc etc in the other forums now it has been named.

Now the cat is out of the bag so to speak , I dont think it was a major thing that the Bunny was mentioned. A balanced view in all cases is what we need. And to be fair Craig did bring up this subject not Mikey.

(Emph. by me)

If 'officially' leaving means you come back again in a couple of months, does 'unofficially' leaving mean that you won't?
