I think you're all mad. Accept the material and use it well.

I gave away my learner computer programming books to a colleague who was trying to diversify. I kept my advanced ones. Does this mean that I can no longer do any simple work and must only do the hard bits?

I also gave away most of my cook books, because I hardly cook anything from them. One of the books taught me how to make a great Bechmel. Can I not make that anymore?

I also gave away my first guitar tuition book. I thought for a moment I might not be able to play 12 bar blues anymore, but thankfully it's in another book. But wait, I think someone gave that to me and he still plays blues. What should I do?

I give and receive books all the time, so do loads of people. People share knowledge all the time in many different ways. Knowledge does not have to be paid for, it can be given freely.

On a related matter, if two magicians share a house (maybe they are magician lovers), do they have to own two copies of everything?

My Uncle was magician. He still shows the occasional effect but nothing much. recently he was kind enough to give me a stack of reading including quite old items, some gems from supreme and old magazines from the 60's.
I thanked him hugely and took them home without a flicker of concience.

I'm sorry, but I can't discuss the method for making Bechmel sauce, this is not a reveal site!

hur hur hur.
not to worry.
I was 14 years a top chef.
As Mr Lewis is to the svengali, I am to the bechamel.
Then again, give me a creamed veloute any day.
Who needs flour in this day and age.
