I saw Graham Jolley do a rapid reveal. He simply asked someone in the audience to call out a card, he then fanned the deck, and pulled out the reversed card. 10 secs tops and played really well.
For Brainwave, I have asked them to imagine a deck of cards spread out face down in front of them, select one and return it to the deck face up, close up the deck, and put it back in the box. I then introduce the pack and explain that there happens to be one card face up in the deck. I ask which one they have chosen. Once they say that, I usually say, 'That is amazing, that is the same card that is face up in my deck!' and then pause for an uncomfortably long time, and then say,'oh you want me to prove it?' I the reveal the card, wait a few seconds or more and then reveal that the card is of a different colour.
Fay Presto adds a nice line: for the red backed card, she says 'ooh, the only Labour voter in a safe Tory seat', and vice versa....
I had a guy pursue me for a whole weekend asking me how it was done. He finally said I subliminally got him to think of the queen of hearts. Of course I did!
