siege, I agree to an extent, bad flash makes me very green and slimey.
Then again, good well thought out flash with a good backend really is a pleasure to use although they still haven't completely ironed out the accessibility issues. They probably never will
Some of them are possible but take huge workarounds that most can't be bothered with.
And as for bookmarking a flash site with a main loader...there is a workaround for that too but not that stable.

That impossible quiz for example, it was great fun but why oh why didnt he just make the flipping thing modular....add more levels in minutes and only take a second to load rather than a minute or so.

Bad flash, bad html...it's all bad

I guess it's a sign of the times...you just need to have opened frontpage (ikk) twice and saved your first hello world to call yourself a designer or developer these days. (yes, I know the difference ;) )

Pink and Fluffy.. I received holy moly, haunted key and 50 feet of rope this morning..

green and slimey.. my hearing is on Friday.. its classed as gross misconduct because I use the F word while I had a table pressed against my face and I called him a t**t..

Letter states .. gross misconduct can POSSIBLY lead to action, up to and including dismissal..

Policy states.. gross misconduct NORMALLY leads to dismissal

I am bringing in 2 incomes and supporting my wife at Uni.. I now worry for the outcome

That's absolutely ridiculous! You should not be held accountable for that at all IMO - firstly you were provoked and secondly I imagine you were in quite an emotional state - I'll spare you the psychology speech but if you were in such a state then what you said would be down to your emotional brain hijacking higher thinking. It's not like you'd calmed down and then gone up to him later and had decided that you would say it to him.

That's actually making me angry now...

I agree with Cardza.
If they sack you then its a case of wrongful dismissal and get a employment tribunal on them.

I know. In the guys statement he said he thought the whole thing was banter.. I never thought it banter being held by the neck with a table to my face..

I dont see what case they can have against me..

I assume you're entitled to have someone with you of your choice for support so if you can find anyone who is prepared to just be there, even if they aren't actually representing you officially, it might make things less stressful and certainly would make the tribunal think very hard before saying anything untoward in front of such a witness. All the best anyway.

Oops, my bad I mean tomorrow ID.
If they are to be pedantic about this, you have every right to let them know you will be filing criminal charges of assault against the person who they seemingly approve of attacking you around the neck and with a table. The law will view the company in an incredibly bad way in light of their apparent support of an assault and punishing the assaullted party, as would a tribunal. They could even be liable for charges as their policies of allowing assaults to occur and putting you under even more stress of a hearing cannot be legal.

You are legally allowed to protect your self physically within reason, verbally should be viewed as caused under duress.

As mentioned above, do contact your local CAB. They can be very helpful, if not in direct knowledge, where to find it.

All the best, and above all keep smiling ;)

and, any type of verbal agression can be classed as "bullying and harassment"....dont be too proud to play that card...its just the generic term for it all, it doesnt mean you have to say that you were bullied, just had to put up with verbal aggression for no reason...

cause as much fuss as possible, and if all else fails, go off sick with stress (go to the doctors first though and get a med note) - then if they sack you, wallop! ker-ching...tribunal time, and lots of money for you for stress and unfair dismissal....

incidentally, no contact needs to be made for an assault to have been made. in the eyes of the law it is something along the lines of making you fear for your own personal immediate safety. That is to say that telling someone that you are going to smack them one and waving your fist is just as much an assault as actually smacking them one.

Note...

I've moved this thread about ID's 'saga' as I think it's important enough in it's own right to warrant a new thread.

ID... Good luck mate. Keep us posted.

Thanks guys..

all they have me on is swearing and calling him a tw*t.. I called him that after he went on a hissy fit because I showed my annoyance at giving away 2 shots at pool by throwing the cue on the table..

This guy wasnt even playing but threw a barrage of insults my way to which I retaliated on simply by calling him the same names he called me.. ( if he is going to be childish so can I )

If he had left it there, nothing more would become of it. It lasted about 10 seocnds max then he rushed over with the table. Any normal person would have responded physically, if ONLY to push the guy away.. I did nothing. I ALLOWED him to grab me by the neck, and hold a table an inch away from my face. I didnt even physically push the guy off me.

The guy in his statement said he thought whole thing was banter, even the table. Well.. if he said the argument was banter and had no issue with that, and I have said twice now the argument want what i took offence at as I allow banter to go on and could have put the argument down toa little banter... the argument should not come into question as at tht point none of us took it seriously. But when he picked up the table and got physical, I obviously took offence, as he took it to a level where I felt uncomfortable and threatened. That was the only point at which 'an offence' was called into question.

The fact that he walked away and muttered tw*t under his breath which in my state replied by saying 'you're a tw*t too.. only served to have him run at me with the table again and swing it towards my face stopping just short. then trying to drag me outside to fight.

At what point in this whole incident did I breach policy rules: even though it does calss abusive language as gross misconduct. They have to lok at it realisically, If everyone who swore was sacked then they would have no workers. And the final line is.. the guy admits that the argument was not taken seriously by any of us.. but the table thing was what took it to a serious level.
