Hasn't this been covered enough times already?

Now, do I get points knocked off for quoting, or added on for deleting all the rest of the post apart from that one part I used?

Fed up with all the repeat calls for SIN BIN. After someone has pointed it out once, couldn't the Mods find a way to send a virus down to destroy the latest "tell me how" " Buy a mobile phone" "free link to porn site" posters computer. Maybe not the porn one. Can be very educational.

Can anyone tell me how to do mentailistic magic? I want to get good at it really quickly and without much practice.

Oh and how do you bend spoons with you mind? Tell me and I'll post a lnk that guaranties you a free mobile phone (for the first 6 months only then line rent charged at £100 per month thereafter)

I'm only joking by the way, don't send bigger boys to my house.

But yeah I hate text speak, it usually takes me about 3 times longer to read the bloody thing.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Oh and an apparently very erratic approach by the mods over who gets into the secrets area and when.

Yes, there's not an amazing archive of top secrets in there but there are folk around here that really should have access by now and some others that cause a bit of head scratching when you see them posting there.

It's amazing what turns up when doing a bit of random searching, I must have missed this thread last year! Anyways:

'Apparently erratic' is right, there are means and methods involved, often based on information from other sources but it always boils down to who gets noticed, or gives cause for concern, for different reasons. In the last 5 years we haven't found any better system so, flawed as it is, it's what we use.

Don't bother replying, just send the PM on to any Mod as a quote so all the information is retained and we'll do the rest  !

When I was a kid, there was a lad who lived nearby who could drink a whole bottle of Worcester sauce in one go. I suspect he's either in the circus or prison now...

The following gets on my wick...

People who post reviews when there is already at least one previous review. All they have to do is check the review index which, incidentally, someone has worked really hard in setting up and maintaining....

Text speak. Anyone posting in text speak should receive an instant ban and a virus should be sent to their computer, blowing it up. Into lots of tiny pieces.

People who can't be bothered to read this thread before posting something.

People who seem incapable of using the search function (the TM search or Google).

Newbies who come on TM with the sole purpose of demonstrating how wonderful they are and how dumb the rest of us schmucks are. You know the kind of post: "Hi, my name is the Great Fandango. I have 3000 books of magic and know how Derren Brown did that trick with the card that the spec has to guess and was shown on TV. If anyone wants to know how to do magic just PM me and I will answer you. By the way, when will I be let into the restricted area because I find it very frustrating that I can't share my knowledge with you guys and TALK MAGIC. Hey, let's talk."

I think we had about 3 of 'em in 2007. They're annoying but also quite hypnotic - like watching a car crash happen in slow motion.
