It was certainly the best of the series by far. This series has been a little lame IMO but this programme hit all the entertainment, suspense etc buttons. Will also add a well done to Mr Lauten, very impressive.

Couple of quick questions:

1. Was it hard and a little tense, trying to keep quiet while you were applying the mask?

2. Were you offended by Derren's description of you as a "big hairy american bloke?"

Thanks for the contribution, and I hope that you continue to do some great work! It's awesome to see TM users on the screen!

Thanks for that!

It was tense indeed moulding her face. Soooo many things could have gone wrong to tip the gaff plus there were 4-6 cameras filming, it was HOT, we needed to keep total secrecy, a whole episode depended upon it not being "given away" and we NEEDED a good casting, so...no pressure!

Offended? No. I AM a big hairy American bloke! LOL. Pluse that lot are always giving each other "stick"...I would have been mortified if they didn't tease!

There's a great business opportunity here, can you run off a couple of Brad Pitts, three Jude Laws and perhaps a Colin Firth or two? I have some mates who need to make themselves more appealing to their womenfolk!

Personally I'd need all of those masks at once to even get on the "appealing" radar screen!

Hi all,
A few points you may like to take into account before using 4OD or Skys on demand service as they both use the same software, There are also reports that the sky version leaves kservice running after uninstalling. For me 4OD did remove kservice after uninstalling but please check.

This is a Peer to Peer application It WILL degrade your internet connection ALL THE TIME.
It shares files weather you have downloaded anything or not AND even after you have shut it down in the task bar it continues.
The only way to stop it is to manualy shut down the KSERVICE.EXE program.

If you have limited bandwidth or have a fair usage policy with your ISP (EG Tiscali unlimited) you WILL fall foul of it or be charged for going over your limit.

After installing this and shutting it down I noticed a significant slowing in my connection and alot of traffic going to and from the machine 4OD was installed on. After looking at the traffic on that machine (download tidmon and tcpview to take a look and use to shut it down) I found a program that I didnt recognise (kservice.exe) I then checked the amount of data transfered on my router, this showed in the last 24 hours over 1gb down and nearly 200mb up, FAR more than the hand full of ebay pages I had viewed that day, and the machine had been off for 8 hours.

So be awair

Cheers
Jay
my conections gone mad since installing 4od.

aparently after more research its mostly the version thats shipped with sky broadbands on demand service thats the real problem, if you use 4od a lot then you'll be used more for sharing, its just that its not made clear that something will hog your bandwidth without your knowledge.

We were fortunate enough to have Tom Lauten talk to us a little about this on Saturday - the making of the life mask is apparently no fun, and would test the inner calm of many a hardened man!!

I have to say, breathing through one nostril, via a straw, wouldn't be my idea of spending a leisurely/enjoyable afternoon either :(

MANDRAKE!!!! Naughty boy! In your bed...ON YOUR RUG!

You too Magical Lady! Welcome by the way and great to meet you the other day!

The weird thing was that the subject of the lifecast was pretty relaxed throughout the process...almost an unheard of reaction! That's what blew Andy's mind and ours...although I had seen people relaxed throughout the process before. Andy has had life casts taken and he, like so many others, find it stressful no matter how skilled the person doing the cast and how well informed the subject is...it's a weird thing to go through.

Because of the general "BS-ness" of what the show's subject was told she was actually there for...a deluxe facial mask...and the suggestion work I coached the show's make up artist (the one who started the process and did the talking throughout) did so well...the subject bought the whole story hook-line-sinker and copy of angling times! It was like the old Mission Impossible for REAL!

It was proof positive to all that panic and fear can very much be brought on by assumption and ignorance...the process and stimuli were exactly the same as a theatrical life cast...only the context was different. In her case, ignorance was FAR more blissful!
