I reckon Peter Butterworth's finest hour was as Brother Belcher in 'Carry on up the Khyber'....... "strawberry mousse!!"

Is it the modern (>2005) Dr Who that they've inherited from UK Gold? Or is it proper Who? :)

Thankfully, after this weeks news, there's now no chance whatsoever that the next Doctor will be Russell Brand! Huzzah!

I think Andrew Sachs would make a superb Doctor, though.

Among other names bandied about were James Nesbitt, Lenny Henry, Sandi Toksvig, David Beckham and the young guy who played the midshipman in last year's Christmas special. I think I'd appreciate more suggestions please  !

However there's still the Doctor's Daughter swanning about the cosmos so who knows?

Hey. This piece of news seems to have totally passed me by. No more Tennant?. Is this an absolute certainty?. If so as far as I'm concerned its as bad a piece of news as when i heard the original show was being cancelled

'tis true, at the TV Awards last night he announced he was 'retiring' from the role, even though he loves the part so much if he didn't move on now he'd never do it.

Due to personal and family events, Id had a really bad evening last night. the news that Tennent was leaving who, felt like the icing on the cake.
what id like to bet is, the next doctor isnt the doctor in the xmas story, the next doctor.

And presumably one of the specials tidys up the river song thing. In fact i would almost put money on the doctors hearts breaking at the moment he sends song back to her death, as being the reason why he transforms into the next one.

I didn't think they could get a better Doctor than Ecclestone.

And I thought Catherine Tate would be a dire assistant.

Funny how you can be wrong about stuff like that...

So even though I consider Tennant to be the best Doctor of the lot, I'm open to pleasant surprises from his replacement. :)

He's better than the Rose Tyler. Walking through B&Q before I had a child run back to his mum to say look its dr who. Made my day, but can't honestly say I look like any of the doctors. I had the glasses and the long coat on, but still I ain't about to give up the day job and hire myself out as a lookalike.

There are some very sad faces on there - check out the Columbo 'lookalike', more like a 'Nothing like'!
