i agree with the wand...

burlesque is classy, and tantilizing...so your magic should be the same...

a dead give away would be, if there's dogs piddling in the corner of the place, and there's sawdust on the floor...its not classy...in which case, go with the spongenis...

otherwise - be devil-may-care, and think of yourself as a "rogue"..

I'd say that your best bet is to go sexy but classy.

Use the girls as much as possible, if you could get in touch with a few of them before hand, that would open up all sorts of options.

A lingerie quick change routine could be good. Try in incorporate music and dance (that's the girls dancing), something involving fire might work.

Remember that burlesque isn't strip, it sould be sexy but not sordid.

Master Abraxus maybe no cigar smoking ban and all that. Now Burlesque I think of classy arty magic like Ken Brooke and old fashioned type manipulation work. Also that why I said them cards I think One can add a certain feel by the cards he uses.

A flash paper production of a rose. Ciggie Manipulation, I feel sam the belhop would work well too. How about an ace production but use patter about 4 dames. Entourage rewrite the patter and you are in business. Loads of stuff.

Breakin' the Habit would be the best gimmicked no-smoking effect i suppose...cracking little effect that is actually...

There are pleanty of options , lots of tricks can be down with a rewritting of the patter. All Gregorey wilsons ring leader works anywhere. My best advice is sit down with all the effects you have and think "no how can i adapt it".

I used the pants version on stage at my sixth form college many years ago. It got a good reaction and I had some free advice from Alan Alan on it as well! However, it's not really going to work in walk-around.

The book you're thinking of is probably 'Sexy Magic' by James Hodges. Still available from Alakazam. It originally dates from about 1970, as I recall and there aren't any earth-shattering tricks in there (did the earth move for you?), but it's got some nice ideas, including stuff for strippers/exotic dancers to perform or assist with.

Incidentally, Boris Wild's Bikini Deck has a number of clever uses for this sort of situation. Half the girls are blondes and half are brunettes, so one of his suggestions is Out of This World (which has already been mentioned).
