JORDAN AND PETER NAME THEIR BABY

Postby dat8962 » Jul 24th, '07, 18:38

There I was , driving home from work this evening listening to BBC five live when they announced that Katie Price (aka Jordan) and her Austrailian husband Peter Andre have now officially named their baby daughter Princess Tiami (pronounced Tea-Army)

I coulnd't help but burst into laughter when one of the quick-witted commentators added that they had forgotten to mention her other names - kangaroo down sport.

Absolute quality - was anyone else listening?

What is it with all these D List (and lower) alleged 'celebrities' and daft names for their kids?

I've had to teach some who have had some really unfortunate names. Can be hard keeping a straight face when going through the register.

I was under the impression that there was a law restricting particularly outlandish or excessively long names etc but apparently not. Poor kids!

Yes, there is a very unfortunate trend amongst those from the...ahem...how can I put this...lower classes to give their children names that they consider "classy". A typical example would be Jasmina. A beautiful name from classical Arabia transformed instantly into a white trash name, and reinvented with a new spelling: Jazmeenah.

Weep for them my friends.

There's a fashion trend for such names based on 'celebrities' of varying worth. Thanks to 'Neighbours' and the pop music indistry, in about 60 year's time the old folks' homes will be full of gnarled and wrinkly Jasons and Kylies!

The worst name is 'Chelsea'. It evokes the images of beer swilling morons who think of nothing but football.
Katie and Peter are comical though.

Same here. Her school days are simply going to fly by with a name like that!

I think there should be a law against branding kids with, um, "post-ironic", names.

Frank Zappa called his daughter Moon Unit One and his son Dweezle.

Seriously!

"Dweezle, go and shout your sister in for her tea."
"Do I have to, Dad???"

This may only be recognised by the older bods here who remember '77 Sunset Strip' on TV but the all time prize for parents having the least amount of imagination when it came to selecting their son's name just has to go to the parents of Efrem Zimbalist Junior!

( naming your son after the ENTIRE football team you supprt  )

the list goes on.. these children are going to get majorly bitch slapped later on in life !!

You know for a fact there will be a horde of applications at DEPOL in 20 years time!!

The worse thing is the parents have normal names, so why destroy your kids future by making the first impression of everyone they meet an aweful one!!???
