OLD STUFF!

I posted that one here ages ago...

We have several Investigative Reality shows here in the states that make absolutely no sense to me... you don't have to know more than the jargon and very little history surrounding these locations they go to and own a decent camcorder for creating such shows and they are getting tons of air time (and North America don't have nearly the haunted tales of Europe).

I lived in (and nearly bought) an old farmstead in south-central Ohio that is listed as the single most haunted private residence in the state. I can't explain what happened in full but I'll say that it was quite interesting and rarely anything "frightening"... in truth, it was typically a pleasant thing; hearing piano music and singing coming out of a room where no piano existed and obviously, no one stood... you only heard it in the house coming from this one area in the house. It would be perfectly silent outside, in the cellar or attic and yet, on the main floor you would pick up this sound regularly, two or three times a week (especially during the fall and holiday seasons).

We would deliberately not tell people about phenomena and yet, those that spent the night or stayed with us for a week or two of time, would mention it... we'd giggle and boast that it was our resident Ghost and just leave it as such.

I've investigated several other sites such as the famed Cave of the Bell Witch and even the church in which the original Grand Ole Opre was staged and sure enough, I encountered many of the same manifestations (unknown to me) that others had reported on and even gave accurate descriptions on physical locations of life taking accidents and what the person who died looked like, etc.

I can assure you that no one tipped me off about things, nor did I have foreknowledge... especially around the Bell Witch who I'd not ever heard of until moving to the region several years ago (1998-99).

Going into the field and EXPERIENCING this stuff lets you develop a bit different point of view on things... but I've found it interesting just how many overly-confident skeptics refuse to do just that. Typically saying something like "I don't have to try Heroine to know that it's bad for me..." or some such extreme example used as a cop out.

If you get the chance, jump in and swim! Study the psychology of it all and how it affects both, you and those with you.

Sometines known as 'orbs' but more likely to be dust spots highlighted by the flash. I spend ages editing the darned things out of my photos!

A week or so ago I was working at one of my regular haunted house gigs. I was going upstairs to prepare my stuff in what is comfortingly known as the "Seance Room" when I heard someone very distinctly walking around in said room.

There was no-one in the room, and the only other person in the house was on the floor below. Ta-da-daaaa!!! It was the first time in a long while that anything had spooked me. I opened the door to the seance room and poked my hand in to find the light switch before I dare go in. It was v. freaky. :?
