Sadly, a lot of those who are avoiding work like the plague are the second or even third generation where not working and claiming benefits is the norm. There's one person in our family who has been diagnosed with 'Anxiety Attacks' which means he can't work. Translation, if there's any talk about him getting a job, he just comes over all faint and unwell, only to recover in the nearest pub. His parents have never worked for a living, his grandparents only worked occasionally and when they did it was at 'cash in hand' jobs where Income Tax was never part of the arrangements. He has a total of 6 children with four different women who all claim benefit.

Then I look at the chunk of my income deducted each month and I start to get just a weeny bit upset…...

You can always tell which is the house of a family on benefits - from the 4WD parked outside and the whacking great Sky dish on the side of the house.

Here is one for you.

How come in Cyprus their is no unemployment? Because after being unemployed for 6 months you get nothing. No work, no food.

Why cant we do something similar over here? Because all the lazy people will have a riot. We cant have that can we.

How difficult is it to get a job? If you are unemployed surely any job will be good enough to earn money to feed your family. But no, its easier earning more money sitting at home working for the Government.

I can understand the situation with carers, people with disabilities etc but not when someone is physically capable of working.

My next door neighbours probably earn more than me, she has 5 kids and her husband is a taxi driver. I own a very successful company and turn over a large amount. My money goes paying high taxes to pay for my next door neighbour to stay at home, and the guy down the road who was made redundant a couple of years ago and feels working in a supermarket is beyond him so he sits at home getting paid with our wages.

Scroungers - they should bring back the workhouse!

I agree, theres a difference between people who have disabilities and/or are physically unfit to work and people who are just too lazy to get a job.

I think the scrounge culture is more acceptable north of Watford. Look at the tedious tv sitcom Bread, about a family of Liverpudlian scroungers.
I thought it was a fly on the wall documentary at first!!!

I think it's just a part of life that you're always going to get people who will try to get by while doing the smallest ammount possible, it doens't matter if you're up north or down south.

Perhaps if eveyone claiming something was made to do certain ammount of community service for their money, that'd encourage more of them to get themselves a real job.

What is more community spirited then mining the coal to keep the country going? The fire stations, the schools, the hospitals and the even the benifits office. See it would be self serving.

Being originally from up North (well I am actually welsh but lived in England since a kid) I find Markdinis comments to alll northerners being coalminers incredibly offensive. We make steel too

Actually I wasnt saying all northern types where scroungers. I mean stick all the scroungers down the mines or at mill. Well anyone who lives past Watford.

How comes a lot of these scorunger types wear track suits yet are 45 stone with the word "sexy" spread across there rather ample backsides. Or have they just got a good take on irony?

Anyway if it wasnt for these types Jezza Kyle would be out of a job so they do serve a purpose.

The people who need or perhaps deserve benefits get sqaut and actually struggle.

The f*wits who just cant be arsed to get a job get enough to sustain their chavlike lifestyle and feed their fat arses enough to keep their arses wide enough to wear those traky bottoms with 'sex me up in this here hole' scribbled across the backside.

The abuse of the benefits system is vulgar!!

On a side note.. I sent off my claim form to claim back all my bank charges over the last 6 years.. I may have wait for this test case to be over to get my money but theres a good few grand Ive been robbed of!!

You should all send off claim forms.. the charges at banks these days are extortionate.. another topic yes maybe.. but still.
