When my ex asked if anybody wanted a round of sandwiches, you would get 1/2 a sandwich, as she said that there were 2 rounds of bread in a sandwich, so a round would be 1/2 that! Then again, she referred to shallow hills and waking up early enough to have a lie in!

I just ask how many slices/sandwiches people want. I then direct them to the nearest shop they can purchase the said product from!

Well, this has confused me no end. I'm Scottish, and as far as I'm aware, the only rounds you get up here are in the pub. When speaking about bread, we generally talk about pieces. A piece is a sandwich containing two slices of bread. Of course, it gets a bit more confusing, because at school, you also get a playpiece, which is usually a chocolate biscuit or bag of crisps the one would munch during a break.

You also get a single slice of bread, which is also called a piece, but you know it's a single slice because you would say a piece on jam, or a piece on butter, rather than just a 'piece' which is generally a sandwich. Prefer rolls myself, or are they baps, cobs or buns?

Much has been said on this matter and I shan't muddy the waters anymore other than to say that both myself AND Mrs Bronz agree that one piece is a slice and two is a round. Three is a crowd.

For the time being I think that we'll steer well clear if asking how many in a bakers dozen (it's 13 by the way)

Ah but do you know why? The baker eats the 13th one to test the batch.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.
