A piece is a sandwich containing two slices of bread. Of course, it gets a bit more confusing, because at school, you also get a playpiece, which is usually a chocolate biscuit or bag of crisps the one would munch during a break.
You also get a single slice of bread, which is also called a piece, but you know it's a single slice because you would say a piece on jam, or a piece on butter, rather than just a 'piece' which is generally a sandwich. Prefer rolls myself, or are they baps, cobs or buns?
