Married with Kids( thankfully grown up to the point I can have a life again )

Computer Programmer / Consultant / Trainer / IT professional (geek)

38 next week ( 1st Jan )

DanteUK is an online alias I've used for a long time in the gaming world ( First Person Shooters ).

I was bitten by the magic bug a few months ago when the company I work for had it's annual user group meeting at the Magic Circle headquarters in London. So as part of that I did presentations and product demos ( computer software ) on stage - nothing to do with magic. But, at lunch a couple of the magicians did some close up magic with a small groups of us and I chosen for a couple of card sleights. This was enough to get me hooked and to learn how it was done. I've since performed the same sleights for friends and family.

My other post :)

Learning:

Sponge Balls
ChopCup

Want to learn Coins once I get better with the above.

wow, another magician from the brighton / hove area, we should meet up sometime (I too am from brighton, studying computing with AI at sussex uni)

Welcome to TM - there is a MASSIVE wealth of knowledge here to help you get right into magic, there are some wiked coin sleight books available, amazon search bobo coin magic and RRTCM - they are awsome starters (well, im still using them to learn new moves and trcisk, and I've been into magic for over 3 years now)

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Thanks for the welcome guys.
As I said I'm pretty new to all this and learning a lot, properly too fast for my own good.
I'm too shy to perform to anyone I don't know yet :) at least not above the age of ten or sober!

Welcome to TM

That first performance is always the kicker, get it out of the way and you are set for ever.

just work on 2 or 3 illusions, that routine nicely together and make sure you are set for new years eve (i presume you are partying in some way)

still some time to priactice, good luck!

Ain't it the truth! :D Welcome to the forum. Its good that you are willing to perfect those things you mentioned but you will see alot of things that you just can't live without and just ask the forum or read the post on the effects to see if they are good effects and worth the money. We all have a magic drawer with alot of tricks in them. Anyway that bug sure gets around. Enjoy the Magic.
Cheers
