My Latin's very rusty, but I think the words might be adjectives, not nouns.

Translating mottos is a bit tricky, as they tend to be idiomatic. Also, it's nice to try to replicate things like alliteration.

Ardens is pretty much the same as "ardent" in English. Aequum is like "equal" or "equitable".

One translation would be "passionate and just", but I think "fervent and fair" works.
