No, seriously.
So, my girlfriend needs to stop clicking her shoulders. she's always rolling/stretching her shoulders and making clicky noises in an attempt to stop them hurting, but now it's got to the point where she does is so habitually that it's no longer helping the matter. A few years back she had a bad back and clicked her shoulders a lot, now it seems to be the clicking that makes it worse, then she does it to stop them hurting, it;s madness!. I'm thinking of sending her to hypnotherapist or something to try and get her out of the habit in the hope that her not messing her shoulders about for a while (well, perhaps doing a little theraputic stretching/swimming) will actually stop them hurting finally.
Given that I have no experience in this area and generally find the idea of hypnosis laughable I turn to you guys for advice. Would it actually be benefical? Are there any reputable hypnotherapists in the Leeds area? Do any of them have the relevant medical qualifications to make a non-hypnotic assesment of her problem befor hand and decide wether it would be a good idea or not? the usual jazz.
additional: we've seen doctors about it and they invariably end up just shrugging their shoulders at us so now I turn to something I wouldn't usually turn to.
