Trick or Treat Series 2

Postby Tomo » May 2nd, '08, 11:11

Trick or Treat
10pm, tonight
Channel 4

From The Radio Times:
"The scarily smooth master of illusions returns to play more of his mind games on the public. This is the show where Brown presents his victim with a choice of two cards. If they're lucky enough to pick the "treat" card, Brown uses his powers to cook up something pleasant for them; if they get "trick", the results can be dark almost to the point of cruel. Preview DVDs weren't available, but we're told that in the first programme father-of-two Glen picks a treat card. His reward is to compete in a Night of the Champions pub quiz. Brown has a week in which to train Glen for the big night by convincing him he has a better memory than he realised. There are elements of Faking It here (no bad thing), and if previous series are anything to go by, there should be a dash of satisfying creepiness, too."
With the new series of Peep Show starting straight afterwards, it sounds like a smashing night in!

How the heck did I miss that?

EDIT: I know how it happened... I'm watching a repeat of The Beiderbecke Affair over lunch. Oh, Mrs Swinburne, will you never be mine!

Actually last nights Trick Or Treat...with the kitten made me cry. I very nearly had to leave the room, I hate cryin' infront of other people. I dont know why It got to me so much.

I loved the bit where the man looked in the hole in the fence!!! That made me smile. So naughty!!!

I thought that the fence thing was the best part of last night's installment. Overall I found it a rather disappointing programme for a change.

Yes, it wasn't the best DB show I've seen, but still an interesting premise and good entertainment (if a little controversial, perhaps). And a damn sight better than the usual c*** (not the best) on TV these days.

In response to the above, that was actually one of my favourite trick or treat episodes last night! I loved it!

i thought it was rather fantastic...giving someone a horrific treat which turned out to be a lovely gift to give someone quite young...hopefully it'll stay with her and help her in the future...

its up there with the previous series with the piano player - loved that one...

i love the way each series has become more and more stylised too - each series had a theme, and these trick or treat ones are sinister/forboding mixed with brain training and psychological adjustments...

well done to all involved - if i wasnt so tired, i'd stand up and salute them..
