Sorry to pick up up on this, but the singular of WaGs can't be WaG. Wives and Girlfriends; wife or girlfriend.

In 2006 it was generally printed as "WAGs", but a singular, "Wag" or "WAG", quickly came into vogue (even though the singular form would logically be "wife or girlfriend", reading as "WOG"); for example: "any additional pounds she gained during Wag drinking sessions";[2] "a property heiress, model and actress, appears a likely sports WAG"
