Arrogant? Yeah, fair cop!

Doh! I revise my answer to be 3 revolutions.

Furthermore, Mr Grue had the answer I had in mind.

QUESTION:

Ok, last effort, slightly more thought about...

2.5

Because:
if they were gears, the smaller would rotate 1.5 times for every rotation of the large one. As the large one is stationary, then we have to add the extra rotation necessary.

I think it could be explained better though!

We have a winner  .

The smaller circle rotates around 2 axes:

It rotates around its own centre 1.5 times whilst its circumference of 4pi passes around the circumference of the larger circle of circumference of 6pi ......
..... and it rotates around the centre of the larger circle, rotating one full revolution as it passes once around the circle - giving a total of 2.5 revolutions.

This is one of those puzzles that appears quite easy (ish) at first glance, but looks can be deceiving :? .

Your riddle plz MrKev  .

ok (I did cheekily slip one in earlier on, but as the thread is open, I'll pop one more in)

A woman had two daughters who were born on the same hour of the same day of the same year. But they were not twins.

How could this be so?

Well, the options are:

1st letter: oie
2nd letter: dish
3rd letter: chiken

.... which gives the following possible combinations:

odc, odh, odi, odk, ode, odn,
oic, oih, oii, oik, oie, oin,
osc, osh, osi, osk, ose, osn,
ohc, ohh, ohi, ohk, ohe, ohn,
idc, idh, idi, idk, ide, idn,
iic, iih, iii, iik, iie, iin,
isc, ish, isi, isk, ise, isn,
ihc, ihh, ihi, ihk, ihe, ihn,
edc, edh, edi, edk, ede, edn,
eic, eih, eii, eik, eie, ein,
esc, esh, esi, esk, ese, esn,
ehc, ehh, ehi, ehk, ehe, ehn.

...... most of these sound like gobbledygook to me - what gives ???

A while ago, I did the same as Moonbeam. I assumed that the answer was either 'ode' or 'oik', with the latter making more sense in context, but I wasn't really happy with either answer.
