Have yoou read all of the comments, above?

If so, you've probably spent as much time as your act is long.

Do the gig, for free if necessary.

Many of those who say 'don't do it', aren't working, anyhow :!:

In my opinion, as a professional, if the Bride has specifically requested you perform at her wedding, then charge. If OK wasnt covering the Wedding, she would be having to pay anyway and I would like to think she wouldnt expect you to work for free.

People at OK are paying a LOT of money to get the exclusive on this, so they will do everything they can to cut down on excess costs. Ive done a couple of bookings like this and ive always quoted an inflated fee, then offered to cut it so I can get my expected fee. Ive also had a lot of TV producers expecting me to do big features on telly, completely for free. Not even expenses. They promise the earth and never deliver.

Dont sell out for false promises. Be a true Pro and quote a fee.

Mark

I think the only question should be "What will make you comfortable?"

A) If you are comfortable then it is right for YOU; and that is what really matters. There are logical reasons to do it as well as logical reasons on why not. I have done simliar things (not for celebrities themselves, but for large scale celebrity style events) and on some it turned out to be great publicity and good for my career, others I got little out of.

B) If you are not comfortable with the fee you are or are not charging, your performance will show that. You must be comfortable or it isn't worth it.

So what does YOUR gut sat ti YOU

Why do 'celebs' think they have the right to get things for nothing? How much money is she going to earn from the magazine deal? My advice? Charge her double, triple even for having the bare-faced cheek for asking for a freebe in the first place, she clearly doesn't value you or your time. I certainly wouldn't do it, I can't afford to give away free shows, unless its for a local charity or very good friend.

They don't, not in my experience anyway. Problem is that they never get involved with this kind of stuff, it's all left to the PA or manager or the magazine thats offered to run the wedding for them. Also before anyone bangs on about how much money they get for selling their soul to a mag it may be useful to note that by giving exclusivity is the only way an A list celeb won't have every reporter in the known world flying over their wedding or climbing trees etc etc. Ironicaly giving publicity to these guys is the only way of having any sort of privacy on what is supposed to be one of the best days of your life. There was one incident in america were the wedding vows could not be heard over the circling helicopters of rival papers!!!! Imagine having your wedding ruined and then having to relive the awful day time after time in court sueing those scum. Best to give exclusivity and let any misdemeaners be the problem of Hello or OK to fight over in the courts afterwards.
Ask for money the only way you will appear in any pictures is if you yourself are well known to the public. If she has specificly asked for you and you give a normal fair price then PA or whoever will have to pay you, simple as that.

No outcome yet. I emailed the agent with a load of questions and the celeb hasn't answered yet due to filming etc.

When I get a definite outcome I'll post it :D

Great publicity opportunity even if you're not getting paid. You might aswell do it as it will most probably get you publisized (Dive in front of picture moments and your there).

the latest news is that the agent still hasn't got back to me with the answers to my questions or actually booked me yet but apparently now the wedding is also being filmed for a TV programme as well as being paid for by a well known magazine.

Hopefully I should hear soon....ish 8)
