I've read them both - wasn't overly keen on Practical... if I'm being honest, thought it was the most dated of the pair, but I realize their significance and I'd suggest everyone read the pair, even if you think the given examples are unsuitable for you. Almost every trick in both books can be adapted to fit your schtick.

I'm sorry but I don't belive what I'm reading here! Do you know anything about your craft Reverend Tristan? This book is the corner stone of the art you say you practice! Now go and think about what you've done.

I know this is'nt a new thread, but i have to laugh.
Do you have to own 13 Steps to be a serious Mentalist - NO
(but maybe your writers and advisor's would  )

Do i own it - Yes
Mine sits on a Shelf, with PS1 & 2, PMM, MM&M and the Compleat Invocation.

I use them as a reference, when i have an idea i will look through to find the best way to achieve that effect.

Good Thread though Trist'

I really like 13 Steps, Anneman left me a bit cold if I'm being honest. It just seemed like the majority of the information in PMM was better explained in 13 Steps.

That's interesting, madvillainy. I found totally the opposite, both are fantastic books but for me Annemann has got something that Corinda hasn't. I use both books all the time but I get more inspiration from Annemann than I do from Corinda.

i agree in the main...

but i've always seen 13 steps as the "how to", and annemann as the "why do"...

I feel that the books complement each other perfectly. In their own ways, they are as good as each other.

Don't know why this has been brought up again. I thought it was a good thread though and it rattled a few cages :D
