For me it is OOTW as taught to me by my late magical mentor back in the early 80's.

I also do a little effect where i take five black spot cards and the same five red spot cards, place one set of cards face down whilst the spec then places their set face up on top of mine. The low and behold the spec has correctly matched their cards with mine. Again this was taught to me by my mentor over 25 years ago.

Very simple to do and very effective. But then most tricks are.

Funny enough I get great reactions of just a simple mindreading trick where spec shuffles the deck after which i force card and mind read it. However I like short and effective tricks and my favourite impromptu card trick would be a simple pick-a-card -trick with DL and backpalm involved.

Doc Daley's last card trick, Clutch from Oz Pearlman (also found in Mark Wilson), Observation Test from RRTCM, some others...I have a few, none are complicated, but they all get good reactions.

I'm an old-fashioned duffer, and stick to 'Design for Laughter', from Royal Road; the perfect sucker trick, with a truly killer transpo.

It's old (like me), it's easy to perform (me again!) - with only one control and one 'move' - and it slays

Design For Laughter usually.

If it's deck I carry, I'll either do Non-Poker Voice or Poker Players Picnic followed by Gathering of the Clans.

I have lots almost everything I perform is impromptu.

I would find it hard tp pick a favourite.

I also like the biddle trick, walkaround two cards tp pocket and ambitous card have to be up there as is Strike 2.

Stoney, you never force a card, you just pull out the appropriate gizmo out of the correct pocket that has the card they name written on it, hehe.

;)

(I hope to high heaven that nobody picks the 9 of diamonds tomorrow or else we'll get kicked out of the pub for indecent exposure.)

I have a pretty reliable mental force that gets them to choose the 3 of Clubs. Which I then show is the only card in my shirt pocket. I then say "You might think I have other cards in my other pockets - and you're right". I then pull out several others cards - they are all the 3 of Clubs. Gets great reactions (but not impromptu :D ).

for totally impromptu card effects my favorite up untill recently is the ACR. but iv started performing a flash aces style prentation with four spectators cards where one "magically" apears on top(colour change) followed by flipping the deck to reveal the others individually spread out.(this explanation dosnt do it justice) then go into allan ackermans "the travelers" cards to pocket routine.
