I hit the beer pretty hard this year, but it was all medicinal (genuinely, it was!)

Tickets (including a very nice credit card sized plastic pass) arrived this morning......

I'll bring my camera this year just in case of any Lawrence style incidents. Would hate to miss something like that again

I should be there, I'm sure i need more than 9 hours sleep over three nights though, I was dead after the last one!

I am still irritated those pictures didn't come out. I'd love to have more visual documentation of that!

True - but I'm guessing that it's the cheapest hotels that will be the ones crammed with all the fun and drinking.

I defiantly try and be there. I've never been to Blackpool Convention before.

as for the cheapest hotels being the most packed ....FAR FROM IT !!

The Ruskin is no t the cheapest by far and that is probably allready sold out. There are several hotels up and down that road that are very cheap and need to be booked NOW to guarantee availability.
Last year it was only the week before that i was able to confirm that i could go and finding digs wasnt easy, well not within stumbling distance.
There is a plethora of cheap b&bs in blackpool, but i do suggest you get yourself a map and check before booking.

Convention booking form is going in today. And, following your advice, I've pre-booked a nice (and cheap) B&B five minutes walk away before all the accomodation goes.

Well done! A lot of Blackpool hotels close at that time of year for redecorating and so on so the chocie isn't quite as wide as directories suggest. A few phone calls ought to sort out the availibility and, assuming you travel by car, make sure there's some free car parking facilities at the hotel as well. After that, it's just a question of saving your pennies ready for the Spendfest that is Blackpool...
