i think there has to be some form of life out there, as the universe is supposed to be infinate...the odds of us being the one things alive within infinity doesnt make sense to me...

however, i dont think any have ever visited...

I'm a firm believer in ET's of all sizes and shapes but not so much the odd little culture that's surfaced around the idea. Let's face it, some of these people are on the fringes of time and space they are so far out there.

As logic would suggest, we live in a rather huge Universe e.g. the mathematical rationality encourages the thought that something else has to be out there in those systems similar to our own as well as in the form of life we have yet to recognize and deal with... maybe lizards did prove the triumphant species on other worlds, or possibly it's Dolphins? Then again, it might just be some kind of etheric essence that we know to be present (beyond all doubt) though it does not fit into our limited understanding of physics, biology, chemistry, etc.

Even here on the earth, we are finding species that defy common logic or "assumptions" when it comes to life forms and general adaptation (evolution).

Considering all the rockets, space probes micxrowave, radio and TV broadcasts etc, we're doing all we can to draw attention to ourselves. As there's been no response that we're aware of, I guess the other citizens of this universe are keeping well away from this meddlesome and barbaric little planet. Frankly, I don't blame them!

I recently read a news story (might have been in New Scientist) about new calculations that show our galaxy is home to no more than around 10 space-going civilisations due to the sheer distances involved and the time they've had to evolve, develop science and colonise space. However, it's likely (due to evidence from the Miller-Uray experiment) that simple organic life arises spontaneously anywhere the conditions for it exist.

I'm a little put off by some of the oddballs in the UFO community, but my own opinion is that we can't be alone.

As to whether they have ever visited? Well, someone pointed me to the site linked below, which certainly made me wonder! I lost several hours looking through the pages here. Pretty convincing stuff:

This is more convincing: http://tinyurl.com/njankm It's a lifting body that works on the Coanda effect. It's movements are UFO-like and the Coanda effect has been known about since 1800! :D

Life in space

Postby ryanmagic » Aug 2nd, '09, 20:48

Replying to Revered Tristans first query, we seem to have gone of topic after :D , we are one of millions of galaxies are out there, so we can expect life but we must be unique to others...ha I feel pretty clever after that 8) !
