I thought Id start this nice and early.

What i find interesting about this one over all the others , is that the trailer uses the M word.

MAGIC.

None of the others have.

I feel that it could be the most diverse.

I think the ad is just Misdirection. He's really going to show us how to do over a casino by running in there wearing a mask, holding a shotgun and screaming: 'give me all the flipping money and no one gets shot!' :D

It's all a roose to pull Matt Damon.

Simon Scott

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.

My wife has callously arranged for us to go to some friends for the evening!!!!!

I think I may have to fake a fatal illness because these "friends" (hers) are probably not the sort to sit watching this.

If anyone who is currently ill would not mind dispatching some of their lovely germs via special delivery to me that would be great.

Not that it will get here in time with the postal strikes.

:(

Casually sugest that you should invest in sky+ or a nice dvd recorder.

( as an excuse you could say that it will mean that you could spend more time with her, as you then wouldnt miss your favorite shows)

It's not the same as seeing it live though.

Ah well, I guess I'll have to settle.

Or alternatively there's the perfectly useable Channel 4 "4OD" service from their very website. Like the BBC's iPlayer in terms of reliability and unlike ITV's Player in terms of Epic Failure. ..

I'm not sure I should be quite so excited about this event but I really am! Even though the previous shows have been a little hit and miss (last week's was top notch though!), I haven't looked forward to a TV show like this for ages! It's truly the only thing I've felt compelled to watch live every week - so I can certainly sympathise with the previous poster's dillemma.

As a side issue, nudged on by a few threads in here this week I started to re-read Pure Effect and Absolute Magic and must confess to have enjoyed them much more this time around. Maybe it's because I've got more performing experience or maybe it's just nice to have DB back on the box but I've really found some useful stuff in there.

Anyway - back to Friday... are we still hoping/expecting (delete as appropriate) for a big reveal to show us what we've all been misdirected away from over the last month? I'm really hoping for a revisit to the lottery show - that didn't seem to go down very well with laypeople, never mind us thaumaturges (see, I told you I've been re-reading the his book!) What are the odds of us actually seeing the famed footage on the open top bus?

I hope he uses the bus footage, he mentioned it on his blog last year so it'll be a shame if it never sees the light of day!

i've been trying the mirroring thing with limited success. has anyone managed to send anyone to sleep? I tried on the tube but felt a little self concious.

What you saw during the show was very exaggerated in my opinion, and I doubt you'd be able to send someone to sleep!

But it is perfectly possible to influence people into doing things, like take a drink of tea, yawn, move their legs etc. It happens all the time whenever you build a rapport with somebody. So if you're feeling self-conscious try small things like that

Tricks of the Mind talks a little about it, and tells you how to do it
