Considering that the casino appeared to be empty on a Friday night, and there was nothing to prove that this was really live, the whole casino part could have been completely staged and faked - like they did with the moon landings.

Honestly, there was no reasonable excuse to be one out.

i thought that mental-ists were supposed to get things wrong from time-to-time as it makes the hits more realistic.
