oh don't get me started on McDonalds! They get everywhere and the thing that amazes me is that it doesn't matter where in the world you are, they're always packed. There's one in Marrakesh that's right around the corner from one of the best resturants in the city (not that it looks much form the outside but the food is stunning). The resturant usually only has two or three locals in at a time but the McD is full. And the resturant costs about half the price of a Big Mc for a lovely 3 course meal and drink.

I am thinking of going there on holiday next year, can you message me the details of the restaurant please?

I bet you never thought you'd get details for a restaurant in Marrakech by posting in a thread to do with Baconnaise.

Got to love the randomness of forums!

I particularly like the original concept of a forum being where a group of learned people would meet to discuss opinions and ideas. This is a good example of that.

So whether you are looking for advice on a classic CF, the CT or dining in Marrakech - TM is the place to be!

Ok folks, I'm doing this from memory so it might not be spot on but shouldn't be too far away. Mc Donalds is on Avenue Mohammed V (I think), if you walk down Mohammed V, away from the Place 16 Novembre the resturant that I'm thinking of is down the second or third road on the left.

Although I'd really recommend eating at one of the stalls in the Jemaa el'fna though, ignor the first ones that you come to where all the tourists are, instead work your way towards the back, there're are some real gems there if youlook out for them.

Are you guys thinking of just staying in Marrakech? If you get a chance, head up into the High Atlas mountains, there are some really beautiful views up there and some interesting little villages that are worth paying a visit. If you can get further afield then the Draa Valley is stunning and the Sahara too if you can get there.

UK licensing laws probably make it a no go area for booze in UK McDs. There's a very nice one in Rome, just by the Spanish Steps and I believe it was the first one in Italy. To get to the eating area requires a trip down steps, under the buildings on the main frontage and then back up some more steps to the restaurant itself. Huge place and, the last time I was there anyway, it had more shelves of bottled beers than most pubs!

We do have a good beer culture here in Sheffield!

I rarely eat fast food though. Even after a good night propping up some of the bars I can't stomach some of the "food" my mates go for. I go home and cook if I'm hungry. A couple of times me and my old flatmate cooked ourselves a steak dinner at 4am after a night out. Yum yum! :D

Baconaise does sound rather good though, itd be nice on a proper BBQ'd burger I'm thinking.

You have an excellent beer culture. I had great Pub crawls there in July (Harlequin, Fat Cat, Wellington, Kelham Island, etc) and my favourite Hotel/Pub/Microbrewery Hillsborough Hotel :D
The beer site I use for my ratings (ratebeer.com) had the annual european summer gathering there (+ Manchester and there was a festival at Huddersfield in Star Inn) in July. We had a great time. Looking forward for my next visit.

The Kellham Island brews make it down here to Darkest Cheshire and are always appreciated. Kellham Gold especially. The landlord of our local pub has a thing for light hoppy beers, and so do his patrons.
